  1. I am sure he would have LOVED it, even if you had different opinions on things. He battled me about my Bugatti T35 and the leather wraps and the safety wire pattern; actually he was the reason the safety wire was drilled into the metal body. When I pointed out the relevance of how and why I used the wire pattern I did, added a little history, logic and reference, he totally understood and changed his opinion Maybe a bit gruff, but he was a reasonable man when presented with logic and reason. I cannot look at that model without thinking of him Again, congratulations on getting to the finish line with this beautiful model, you should be very proud of your accomplishment!
  2. I was going to ask what is next and how it feels as well Give you some time from the shock of passing the finish line Harry really would have LOVED this
  3. Wow, you got there!!! Very impressive build. She needs some beauty shots now outside to show off. Congratulations on finishing your masterpiece

  11. I agree A couple outside photos on tarmac with forced perspective background and it would fool the Snake himself God look at that engine
  12. All right, summer plan is: Hop on plane to Vancouver, bring the Targa Skytrain on over to Burnaby...'bout 10 mins from the airport We do some wood carving and make the window blank in my little workshop Test out the vacuuformer in my office and make a couple windows Dinner on the deck, drinks included, to celebrate and then back on a plane to hog town problem solved
  13. l thought I was the only one who made those noises If it could help me build like Chris does, would do it more often

  15. Love the blue paint, excellent choice Have seen a real F355 up close and personal in deep blue with a blue convertable top...real sharp and yet a touch subtle
  16. Not that I don't have complete faith in you and know you are gonna nail this glass perfectly, I was researching on here and found this thread http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/115817-making-windows-clear-styrene-sheet-or-acetate/#comment-1673969 I found the post about clear acetate sheet and a heat gun interesting Oh and to keep you motivated, I had this park across the street from me on Tuesday....DROOOOLLLLLL!!!
  17. Ya, that is a good idea How would you go about it?? Carve a slightly undersized blank in balsa of the rear window maybe??? You can't form over that poor fitting window unless you hack it up to fit and then vac form over it...again have to undersize I have a vacuuformer for work, but haven't made windows with it...yet. Interested to hear how you do it
  18. You could leave it like this!!! Maybe a little folded soft top and just call it a convertible...especially if that clear plastic explodes on you. Keep that clear window pretty hot so it stays moldable and not brittle
  19. Those last three images really do it for me "OMG that is fabulous" direct quote with my jaw dropped open and drool emanating from my gaping maw
  20. I agree Ray, definitely a large black hole left with his passing At least he isn't suffering anymore. Miss ya Harry
  21. I have a hard time discerning your reference pictures from the wip scale pics...could you be a bit more sloppy
  22. Dude, that is an above and beyond kind of post......picture complete with captions!!! That is awesome I thank you very much for your time and effort, that really shows your attention to detail and how focused you are. Love your casting table set up! Been watching some uTube videos on vac pumps and many made from a pressure pot with a clear lid Hope to be able to wrangle something together Thanks again Cheers, Scott
  23. Oh sheeeeet, I see what you mean. Bottom corner is out wide and top corner too low Nothing like f'ing with clear plastic, very brittle loves to crack or snap. Maybe some hot hot water and gentle bending??? Did I mention gentle Dont give up on her bud, you have come so far and done so well. Maybe just tuck her away for a bit and think...until your patience and love returns for her
