See there is a familiar name!!! Good to hear from you as well Bruce and thanks You cannot see the distributors as they are so tight to the firewall...just use the kit ones and drill out in appropriate locations...I have a schematic pic if you need it

Ferrari 599 GTO Revell + hobbydesign pe + hd whell + opening door
Twokidsnosleep replied to z_g_h's topic in Model Cars
Holy cats this is nicely done...could double for the real car in some of the photos. Awesome work -
No worries, thanks for noticing. I cannot paint a perfectly straight line, but I am not too bad with a pen in hand. For the next build, a yellow Ferrari Dino, I think I will try to cut strips of Tamiya tape as the inserts and use Sharpie ink again on the tape for colour...just to give a smidge more dimension.
-
Seat belt PE added and passenger compartment cemented in. I am liking that steering wheel and horn logo
-
Ya I agree Dann...some of their others are a bit MEH, like the ones with all the weird Asian graphics and characters.....I suggest you avoid those. Again I thank you for rekindling my interest back to this website, hoping to see a few old familiar avatars pop up
-
Thank you sir...you are right, the kit is very nicely made. I am impressed with Fujimi Enthusiast kits so much so I bought this
-
Sorry, I missed your comment. The seats, righto They were primed Badger Gelb Yellow and then a Tamiya tan with a smidgen of white added until I was happy with the "English leather" look Now pay attention as this step is very technique sensitive.....I used a fine tip sharpie for the black lines Was going to do a surface wash, but the flat tan has a nice leather texture IMHO and the black would run with the wash Currently doing the black PE seat belts ...and cutting my fingers in the process!!!!!

Yes, it does pay to shop around a bit...would NEVER pay that much either. I did buy a yellow Fujimi Dino the other night just so I could duplicate the yellow primer layer
-
Oh, I like that a lot, Dennis you did a fine job Did you do something to the folded top?? It looks awesome
-
thank you kind sir Holy crumb, this kit is like $150 on eBay!!! Man, I should have sold the sucker rather than hack it up like I have
-
Engine block is a Mr Hobby super silver spray over Badger white primer Black is Badger Stylenrez Blue Tamiya oil filters and flat white headers Mig Dark wash over everything..that is the real secret to make it look a bit more realistic I think that was it
-
Thanks to both of you! Dann brought me back here. Have not really been on site since we lost Harry and been building other subjects..Space Shuttles, aircraft, helicopters So good to be back
-
Lovely build so far...I tell ya, these Fujimi’s give Tamiya a run for their money You are doing fantastic
-
Ok this post will bring us up to date Have the first layer of Tamiya red on her. Plan on a second coat and then X22 Tamiya clear and maybe a wax job The roof line is still a bit f'd up and I took out the side curtain supports so I have to scratch them and add those in. Really like the knockoff mags with the Ferrari stickers She's a hot little red headed number, no? God I bet the real car is just an absolute blast to drive...a 12 cylinder go cart!!!
-
Most of the interior painted and detailed...made some floor mats Why is this vertical?? Body has now got a Tamiya clear orange layer sprayed on....kinda ornagey-yellow
-
Some spoon tests for the paint layer combos Primed her in Tamiya flat yellow to help the red pop...she looks pretty good and the engine drive train done Rolling chassis done. Good engineering on Fujimi's part for a 1988 kit Mmm I am liking the yellow, maybe I should leave it that colour???
-
Thanks Ron, I am about 3/4 of the way done...almost in final paint Will fire up some more progress in a sec Jesus my pictures are big...are they supposed to be that big, I can't control it??
-
The kit came with a cool little engine stand...love it, though a bit flimsier than the brass ones I often make Got to wiring her up Try out in the body And a nice surprise, some great wire wheels
-
Hello I am finally making something again....my F40 and 911 have been zapping my mojo, so I thought I would try this one Broken roof and a ton of sprues. The Fujimi detail kits are quite something This is the goal
-
I agree, this is lovely in blue and I like the interior colour as well Nice
-
Nice project, have always loved the Dino's shape Even on this coast of Canada it is hard to spray with the window open for the vent tube...brrrrrrr

Twokidsnosleep replied to Amy P's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The question was not 'can I fix this', it was "should I fix this" or leave it as it came to me and not mess with Harry's stuff too much Oh I can fix it, Mr Skip
