  1. Just registered my account! I have a couple of aircraft builds currently and then will pull the trigger later towards summer for a VW surf van I have planned.
  2. Hey Bruce, I bought this kit for a motorcycle build on a Face Book site...never knew it existed. I knew I had to look up your thread and see what blue you sprayed for this build..... TS-55 it is
  3. I am able to add stuff to a wish list without the notice of closure, so they must be back to taking orders I want to order some, but once bitten twice shy
  4. Hey, good for you, but that is far from the norm when dealing with that company. I ordered on the 27th of November 2017 and got it April 3, 2018....after much hassle, unreturned messages and unfulfilled promises. Nothing extra, no free bottle and no shipping refunded. Order did not get shipped until I got his attention with a pay pal complaint. I dont think you should be so smug with your post as Gravity has proven incredibly unreliable as a company in order taking, shipping and communications. Not sure I want to trust them again with my business no matter what their paint is like.
  5. Ok, cool, you guys are on my radar Do your spoon photos with a light blue background...it is neutral for the eyes and lets your colours stand out. Old dentistry trick in choosing tooth shades I like the pups
  6. Please keep us posted how you like the Splash stuff. We are in the same Gravity boat it sounds like.Do a PayPal dispute, that gets attention from Gravity.
  7. Nothing wrong with picking up the ball someone else dropped and running with it. That is good business. Take the high road and don't get baited into arguments on the internet even though you are dead right Make good paint, be reliable in orders and communication and your company will do fine.
  8. Absolutely great..got this one in the stash too. Really like your mods; flaring aluminum tubing and polishing it up for tail pipes is a favorite trick of mine too Nice work
  9. Cheers, good thought
  10. I might have missed this, what are we planning on body paint and clear ???.....ie. colors/ brands I have been pondering starting out my next build with the body paint, decals and clear rather than leave it to the end...that way if I screw up, haven't wasted time super detailing the engine and such
  11. Wow, what a wild looking body. A super car for sure
  12. You are really going the extra mile for the detail...something at need to learn especially as the end gets near in a build Looking forward to seeing some body panels
  13. More of a rum guy....frustrated model building rum guy Aside from my clear coat screw up, I had to cut out some firewall to let the engine sit in right, had to cut off lots of kit air hose as was waaaay too long for the radiator to sit in, the wow in the upper roofline would not straighten out and yes the BMF. I have built three aircraft entirely with BMF....some issues, but good results. This package would stick some times and then crumble or just tear others, almost like there is no glue in portions. But of course if I lift it up, it tears out paint. I had to try three new blades before it would cut smooth. Just not my BMF day I am still searching for that build where it all comes together for me and I get a nice clean, clear, shiny car from nose to tail and in between. Suppose that is what pushes me to keep going and trying to get better, especially at the end assembly points when I am sick of the build. This build has been near a garbage can more than once.
  14. S'all right..kind sick of her at this point, lots of fitment fight. My BMF must be dead as some of it just crumbles and rips rather than smooths and the front bumpers look ridiculous on her body and I might put the side mirrors on, but no side indicators. I will finish the little bits later. I had a flashback to the old Gumball Rally Movie of the 70's trying to fit the rearview mirror, then threw it away and said.... "what is behind me, it does not matter" Still searching for that perfect, clean build where I get everything to just...work
  15. Cheers Gary! Unfortuntely I have thumbs that are extremely attracted to CA glue and fingerprints that must be left into shiny smooth paint...every freaking time
  16. Had my doubts I could pull this off, but I did GX 122 up cut clear on her this morning. Might try a little polish after it cures overnight whew
  17. Got a new red dress on her last night
  18. Fantastic, congratulations Unbelievably detailed and gorgeous and perfect and well just WOW!!!
  19. Yellow base coat on now and I decanted the Tamiya TS-8 Hoping to spray some red tonight
  20. Ya, I know what to watch for in my equipment now. A bit of moisture isn’t a big deal for Stylenrez or Tamiya, but it is a killer for the 2 part epoxy clears! I have the body and hood sprayed in a light yellow layer. Decision time....same Tamiya with Mr levelling thinner; TS-Italian red out of spray spray can; TS IR decanted and shot through the airbrush Not sure yet what I will do, letting my primer/base layers set up well. Likely will go for the latter one if I can find the right straw for decanting.
  21. Gorgeous in her hot red dress
