Thanks Dan....I seem to be taking the long, slow and stupidly hard road of refurbishing. Not sure why, but I do find it satisfying to restore the bombs.

Good to see you working and posting again, your work is very inspiring Chin up, big smile and mojo re-loading -
Spent some time with the Porsche this afternoon Putting the engine block and transmission back together Used a combo of Tamiya flat aluminum and Gunze aluminum...just to try for subtle shade variations. Then a wash with Mig dark wash and some Ammo engine oil

...and I am late to this thread as well. Totally missed it as per usual. I have not been on MCM as much as in the past and the loss of Harry IS a big reason..just not the same. I think of him every time I come on here as another member mentioned and I find it a bit hard. I hope my kids are as strong and intelligent at handling my passing one day as Harry's kids have been in this horrible situation...Amy is truly AWESOME!!! Harry was a great modelling influence for me, The Mentor I never met in person. Through watching his WIP's and direct contact he made me better My favourite line from Harry is "nothing looks like real wood except real wood". He was a master at carving the basswood parts...rember the Shooting Brake RR panelling??!! He inspired me on my metal Bugatti T35 build to drill a bazilion tiny holes and make safety wires and holders for the body as "that is a prominent and defining part of the car, shame to leave it off" I am going to be fortunate enough to get a couple of his models and I suggest that we post those back up into the forum so others can enjoy them again and see that they went to good homes. Thanks Amy Cheers big guy, mis ya -

Late to this party of course, but I just bought a used Soobie STi hatch. Love the hot hatchback look and now my son will learn to drive stick shift Very reminiscent of the Saab body style...people called those Saabarus. -
Ya, I really like it. NICE!!! Was wondering how the colour combo was going to come out, but you did great
-
Right, thanks...did a bit of hunting and found it as well Hoping she puts up some of his classic builds, very glad to see they are being passed along and not destroyed
-
Nice indeed does she have anymore models listed?? Perhaps a link to her 'store' I would like to do something similar to honour Harry
-
My F 40 is back in her box for a bit.....just busy with other stuff. Photobucket has killed my threads and I will be a bit getting them re organized, but I will pop you a message when she is back on the bench! You have been posting some great builds !!! Cheers, Scott
-
Oh wow, love this one too ? Is this a permanent display or just how you photograph finished models??? Such a great way to show off a finished car with the background like that so everyone can know what it is and enjoy it My 1/16 Fujimi F40 build seems on be on hold again......hopefully this will inspire me

Gorgeous model and wonderfully displayed Top notch work
-
Oh, that is really nice!!!
-
I was thinking the same thing...all of Harry's awesome build threads and posts have broken links. A big FU to photo bucket

Absolutley I like the honest opinion and helpful criticism he gave...not everyone's cup of tea but it pushed you to be a better modeller
