If you heat the tube, doesn't it "anneal" I think the word is and thus soften up a bit for bending??? I did melt some aluminum tubing trying to make it heat colourize at the exhaust tips...dumb idea so be careful
Your brilliant skewer sticks remind me of marking water lines on model ships It is simple and smart to get everything balanced and even like that; going to use some version of it when I build from now on as a double check for level. My little MG was out of whack left to right dimensions in the rear
I really like that belt line you posted Monday....was wondering if you heated and pre-curved it and yes you did after I read the whole post Your wheel gap and stance are superb in today's pictures..great attention to detail Very classy look Cato
I totally agreed and have the same fixation for engines of many kinds Purchased some 1/8 kits to post along side their vehicle builds Have a love for famous WWII airplane engines as well...Pratt and Whitney, Merlins and the like
The Pocher 911 gets a lot of bad rap as a lower quality kit vs the other exotic and the classic kits...do you find that so???? I have the F40 and I would rate it good; the Testarossa I would rate as fair... more plastic and toy-like. The Porsche gets hacked online as the weakest link perhaps due to more plastic components??? There is definitely metal vs styrene camps in the modelling world
So nice to be following along a few classic, large scale builds....need to see more of these I am dying to get my proper workspace up and running so I can return to the larger scale stuff
Impressive progress!!! Looks like you are enjoying this Bugatti more than that Rolls The suspension work is excellent and the radiator and grill are just glowing. Agree that the water pipe and spark plug area is improved with your razor saw solution I like what you did on the exhaust manifold as well. As we say in Canada, you are "just given-er" i.e. going very rapidly
The build and silicone water is awesome.....maybe a finished edge on the base to spruce that up a bit. Blue to match the water or a nice wood that matches the hull
You should be really proud of this build, really really well done, awesome photography also Makes me wanna crack open my 1/12 kits, but I just don't have the time or space right now Thanks for letting me trail along on a great build man
Driving me nuts as I know I have seen at least one as well I found another site I booked marked where a Bentley Blower had metal spokes done...hope that is what you were after, sorry to refer to another site http://www.scalemotorcars.com/forum/showthread.php?89017-Tagged-Airfix-1-12th-Blower-Bentley-with-improvements-(I-hope-)
