  1. Oh yeah, sorry to borrow those tweezers, will give them right back I am not a railroader, but one of my favourite shops in Vancouver is Central Hobbies. They are full on railroading store and have so much stuff that isn't behind locked cabinets so I can go an pick through what will work The scaffolding is train bridge girder, the spotlights are oil drums and the lights are battery powered LED Christmas bulbs Making Spot lights: oil drums spun on Dremel lathe to remove seam lines, glued drum to it's sprue to act as support, bulb inserted bent and distal side painted black Pretty simple actually. This is a good time of year to find cheap battery powered LED's and you can chop em up and re-solder to your configuration
  2. Ok Jim, got Irvin made and added in. He was a Hasegawa 1/72 weapons lift truck driver. I made him a fuzzy sweater and a hat. I think he has an Abe Lincoln or Fidel Castro look going on as well Still have final pics to do on W/E, will post more then
  3. Hey thanks guys...it was supposed to be just the crashed X wing..... then saw the movie set photo....then got challenged to add actual lighting Was fun learning and combining stuff; woodworking for the base, made brass soldered supports for the background curtains, investigated silicone water effects, delved into painting figures, electronics and soldering.... Kind of pushes you out of your comfort zones
  4. Ok, working on fixing up my gaff Here are the two directors together Irvin Kershner and George Lucas Working on the hat and beard for Mr Kershner, made from a 1/72 Army guy
  5. Oh I absolutely recommend them!!! Less expensive than Fine Moulds, better engineered than Revell or others. I did not need to glue anything on the X wing when I put it together. Great kits and thanks for posting
  6. ".....and for god sakes don't fall in until you have taken off your helmet" I had no idea he directed this, and will add him into the mix in a day or so; thanks for the correction....just gotta find the right figure Thanks for looking Jim and everyone else as well
  7. Hey, thanks guys If you are into this sort of Star Wars thing, the newer Bandai kits are really well done, go together perfectly and they have a ton of different subjects
  8. Just to prove I have not been sitting on my hands doing nothing all year...movie scene diorama from Star Wars. Luke has just stepped out of X Wing, R2 hasn't fallen into swamp yet
  9. Oh buddy, so sorry to hear you are fighting bad health still Keep fighting and doing what you can to get better, really need you around here to keep us inspired All the best, will keep you in my thoughts
  10. Ditto for me....just in temporory digs at the moment so it is packed up safe and sound Pistol grip is easy to use, cleaning is as much of a pain as it is for any airbrush
  11. Detail work is spectacular, great build!!!
  12. Fine work indeed!!!
  13. Flocking is very well done, should build up really well
  14. Wow, that is a pretty good friend. I had to sell a kidney for my kit
  15. Looks Cool Pat Does it wash off in a week
  16. Have always loved the body style of this era Z car Your build looks great, will happily follow along
  17. Ahhh an acrylic RC body, I get it. That is looking super cool!!! I found that the scale measurements in RC is way different than modelling....for example1/8 wheels in RC are huge vs styrene kit
  18. Looks good Bruce, duct tape and ingenuity I know you will get this reference photo
  19. Looks awesome!!!
  20. super cool Nicely done!!!
  21. Sorry to hear about your ill health, please take care of yourself Model building time come when it comes, life and family is more important Now, I would be happy to take that 'obnoxious' Cobra off your hands if that would be of mental relief Of course I would probably kill myself driving that sucker but I am willing to take the sacrifice for a tarmac tearing trip Seriously, wishing you good heath
  22. Hey Ryan, good to hear form you Nope, I have not done anything on it, but interestingly enough last week I brought the kit from my work storage cupboard to the house we are renting. I was fondling the parts this very past weekend....you must be psychic!! I am finishing a diorama build for a Star Wars group build and then want to get back to the F40 Fujimi and the Pocher engine at the same time. Lots of work to make it look good, but it can be done! The metal transkits are pricey, I contacted the guys in Germany and you CAN get the full transkit ....$1300 That is a bit too much for me at this point Fire up a WIP or post your updates, love to see what you do with it. Cheers Man, Scott
  23. Finally someone shows Brian Setzer...I was gonna have a fit. I have a Gretsch guitar that I embarrass myself with once in a while when I try to play like him Setzer brought back the big band sound as well. They do some great Christmas songs in this style. Was just watching this U tube video of the classic song Mystery Train the Stray Cats Modified into a tribute song of sorts, never heard it previously
  24. Curse that Ricardo, he doesn't deserve such car.....rope on the door, #$%^*!!! Nice job BTW
