Your desk look super, really well laid out I have great aspirations that I am going to take my table saw and bandsaw and make up some organizers like this with rare earth metal magnets to attach sides The reality is I might as well just order these and move on ps jealous of the Zero paints I see there so neatly organized...can't get those shipped easily it seems anymore

ahh...what does an engine cost???

HAMS Model car Contest Houston 8/1/2015
Twokidsnosleep replied to Len Woodruff's topic in Contests and Shows
Thank you for posting the photos I have never been to a model show before and it was interesting, for me, to see the spec entry sheet as well as the model. Some have it filed out very detailed and neatly while others have almost no info. Must be interesting to judge. I would like to know what they look for and if a detailed well written entry sheet makes that little smidge of difference for a prize winner. Such a subjective evaluation it would seem. I know I am brutal when I am reviewing resumes for positions in my office....the written document is a huge first impression on me. Anyways, thanks for the link, maybe I need to get out more and see a show or two -
Sad news indeed I do hope they reprint his published works, very hard to get a hold of them RIP

Got mine for right around that USD's....it is the poor CAD and shipping that is the killer for me last 30 seconds, snipe in your bid......just sayin have had the week off packing, chucking and recycling stuff, vacuuming spiders up from the garage hauling heavy stuff there is only so much a man can take ........before he needs another Pocher I have no bench to even clear off right now, but will take some nice pics when she comes to my office storage space
-
Oh yeah, she will get done up right when the time is right. Comes from a trusted source I have bought Pocher engines from so just couldn't resist. You meet the nicest people amongst modellers and collectors. Still, paid a fortune for it. This is Cato's party so I will post some pics when I get her, although he got me started on Pochers, so I blame him when I start getting yelled at My idle hands are always the devil's work there are two on e bay right now for under 1k
-
This is pure speculation and may or may not be entirely 100% true or even remotely accurate so don't tell anyone, especially my wife, but there is a chance that theoretically I have acquired as soon as it gets shipped .................... another Pocher Like a spanking new(ish) Bugatti T50 K76 model shhhh keep it under your hat.....and I blame all of you guys for the addiction

Why not brass??? I am glad some big guns have chimed in. Brass work is a bit addictive and I do agree about the painting; the brass is so beautiful, it's hard to paint over it. I have just started learning silver soldering for brass modelling and when you get it right, you have a strong and immediately stable joint...no waiting for glue to dry. It has a learning curve for sure and the set up, stabilization and cleaning of the brass can be challenging. Once you get the hang of it, it is a ton of fun and opens up avenues for stronger models. It is another weapon in your arsenal along with styrene to build better models than just what comes out of a kit.
