how to make black interiors nice
Twokidsnosleep replied to youpey's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Great replies to this topic guys, the photos were especially helpful for me Thanks to Michael for asking the question as well -
Awesome!!! She looks like she has run a hard race
-
Real nice Like the stance, paint and decal work
-
Your photography is great The car looks flawless.......and wicked cool I am sure you see the warts, but it looks like a solid build to me
-
Ou contra ire my friend...who got me hooked into this Pocher addiction in the first place????? None other than Mr Cato and this very RR thread . Not that I am complaining, you broadened my modelling horizons
-
We just want to make sure you are still breathing.....you've been quiet, too quiet
-
My problem is only on the i-pad...it likes to reload the entire page on both photo bucket and MCM when I am going between them...so I lose the pic from photo bucket or it dumps my text on MCM So if I save my MCM text/photos and then go back to add more photos or text below my post, I cannot scroll below the last picture to add anything I tested an edit on my I Mac at work just now and it is fine....so maybe just an i-pad issue.

Oh wow that is GORGEOUS!!! If you put in a pit/crowd backdrop and I wouldn't be able to tell if it was a model or the real thing Really well done
-
Ahh, I see ; really like that spear look to it Good to not slow Harry too much, his work is inspiring after all
-
Are the stripes going to be a pin striping material?? That would look very smart I like where you are headed here. I even slowed down Harry for you by putting him in a Bugatti mood just to gain you some time I hear you with text and pictures...it is much more difficult now, my I pad won't scroll down past the last photo when I post multiple pictures
-
Bit of a Bugatti nut myself. I am interested in what kit and scale this is. You have done a beautiful build Mine is a 1/16 , I think it is, seen here in a stash picture on the RHS

Two Pocher at one time, that is a handful

After a month away, have finally got back to this project. Spent some time researching a prominent feature of the Bugattis...louvred body panels To cut to the chase the options for making them are: you could make plastic ones and glue them on, get PE ones, cut slits and press shape them right into the body panel. I am going to try a mix of these methods. I have pressed the louvre into brass and copper shim stock and will either solder or CA glue them on here are a couple pics of using two haemostats to press in the indentations, then cut out the strips

Sweet work

Vallejo woes yet again!
Twokidsnosleep replied to aurfalien's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Have not used my little kit enough yet to give a proper assessment of these paints, but not liking what I hear about some of them. Probably will like and use some colors and pass on the finicky ones. I have not had a whim of trouble with the Citadel set I got and find myself using them more and more as opposed to the Tamiya collection I have This is what is great about a website like this.......getting a heads up and advice before wrecking something So thanks for opening this thread up Brian -
Thanks for the tips Harry, those little tricks and warnings will come in very handy. Anyone can build it Ray, just like any kit. Harry SHOWS us how the devil is in all the details that make such a big difference Nice work on the engine cover...one pic is missing, though ????...ahh there we go, razor saw to the rescue

Ok, so know to be careful with pistons and rings. There is pressure fit and then there is "way too tight it is going to explode" fit Bust anything else??? Paul Koo talked about opening up every drill hole with a tap so as to not snap off screws Going great so far

Hi gents, just checking in on the Fujimi Crew We have settled into rental house and I have a shared spare bedroom for modelling and wife's office. The only model damage to the move was on the F40, the styrene supports for the turbo inlets. So I did some brass pins and used aluminum tubes to replace them I also made some red gaskets for the headers to close the gaps and look cool will try to get moving on this and stop showing the same photos of barely any progress

Twokidsnosleep replied to JohnnyK's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I saw that thread John, you did a super job on it I imagine there are licensing reasons that a 1/12 GT40 isn't made again. Now that I have snagged my 1/8 Bugatti, the GT 40 is on my hit list....hopefully one day I will get one -
Big Bugatti in the house!

Miss the gears....is it something that could be added back to the newer kit??? Like to see what you do for engine painting......assemble and test fit to confirm before painting or paint before assembly -

Good for you, glad it arrived safe and sound. It is a mother of a large box Will be a super build thread to watch....my kit will be put away for a while but I will watch and learn -
I don't hide anything I buy from my wife......I just don't voluntarily reveal the purchases until she catches up with me Deleting PayPal receipt e-mail notifications on our shared address is purely innocent and really just housekeeping Got a Williams FW07 1/20 Tamiya this morning from Australia...been looking for a while
