I have played with the parts a couple times, got two slice cuts from the plastic cover and shoved it back into the stash pile It is a white metal kit, kind of a mini Pocher really with metal parts, screws and such. Yes the body parts are prepainted a French Blue. It will build up pretty nice OOB and better with some slight mods It is a bit pricey, but very different from the norm of kits Bob S did an awesome Revival Alfa in this thread http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=101676&hl=

Ahah, I will give that a try as well I did try it on the Tamiya flat aluminum of my F40 engine exhaust....meh, didn't shine up and looked a bit gloppy in the end Maybe I am just all sausage fingers

Yours looks great!! Hmm, maybe I will try it with the Alcald base...like the gloss black??? How long do you wait before polishing??? My tests were over Tamiya fine white and grey primers I have Alclad gloss black, Aclad white primer and Alclad grey primer as well to try out

I found that my True Metal Aluminum kept rubbing off on me As I polished, it stripped down through the primer.....hand polish even I wasn't super impressed, but maybe I did something stupid with it??? Three coats over primer After polishing and the control no polish area I love the way it paints and handles, but the rub off and lack of shine don't really justify it. Tamiya flat aluminum looks almost identical If I did something wrong, love to hear it, but this is what it did in my hands

Thanks a lot Randy I figured this 1/32 needed some love and was not a big loss if I destroyed it I am really impressed with how strong the brass joints can be with the silver solder Yes the tie rod ends were fun...a good challenge on setting up a stable support for the pieces Have had some thoughts of remaking the whole thing, ALL in brass...then I sat down and let those thoughts go away

Making tie rod connectors...soldered the little brass circles on the connectors I have soldered the wheel support tubes to the C brackets as well...kept the long pins to act as locators and level checkers

Would it be ok if I shot you a PM about tips for silver soldering brass??? Scott

I read a good article about early Bugattis and it answered a question I had about the holes in the frame rails. Apparently the cars needed to be lightened for 1934 Grand Prix rules and that was how they accomplished meeting the weight restriction https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/12170/lot/639/ This was my little #14 before I axe murdered her...you can see the holes in the frame

Continuing with front end fab...making the wheels rotatable and steerable You can see me brainstorming in the drawings Square stock brass Needed six holes drilled, cut in half and one side removed To make these a matching set Mock up Lots of refinement to do still, but it works!!!

So I have switched gears here and will restore this AMT T59 before I do the Revival kit Trying some soldering to make a new front axle Bent three bits of brass to shape and used the silver solder (Orange label) and butane torch to attatchment pieces
