  1. . And in a number of smaller builds....that will help with frame alignment when I solder the Bug up I like your tube cutter as well. My little plastic one doesn't cut squat, especially small diameter tubes we use Ps I was fondling the Pocher Testarossa kit just last night The engine detail upgrade needs an engineering degree to figure it out
  2. Oh, I like that
  3. Loving the body and especially wheel colours....very nice build!!!
  4. You are a bad influence according to my wife.....my kit arrived from Japan today I have a 1/12 Ferrari coming also
  5. A very sharp build!!!
  6. Dang, didn't see the original post date...it has arisen from the dead! Zombie General Lee!!!
  7. I found a set of blueprint plans online for a Type 59, printed them out at work and brought them home. I would love to say I did some brilliant calculations to make it 1/32 scale, but no. Blind stupid luck allows this printout to match exactly to my 1/32 build. I have to adjust my frame a bit, but between the model kit and these plans I have a decent guideline. Blind luck, take it when you can get it! Oh, the wheels were from a source suggested by my other good friend on here Skip Jordan....they are bang on beautiful, Skip!!!
  8. Always good to hear from the Master of Brass Really Randy, I am so thankful for your tips, suggestions and especially encouragement. This won't be a smoking nice build that makes a magazine cover or wins show prizes, but it will be something I made myself I thank you for helping me along
  9. Great looking build, loving the brake line details Well done!!!
  10. Great job, good looking General!!!
  11. Such a great colour combo on these cars, a favourite of mine as well......you did a fine job on ALL of them!!!
  12. Great looking collection of Italians you have there!!!
  13. Loving the Gulf livery....great stuff
  14. The carpet looks great and lays superbly. Interior is going to be as gorgeous as that engine!!!
  15. Awesome project work I bet those doors will close with the nice solid clunk like a well made vehicle does
  16. Thanks, that is exactly what I am doing....practice I have another build on the side so switch to this in between
  17. Rear frame extensions soldered. In the pic the top rail was little chips of solder and the bottom rail I added solder from the whole wire. A ton more finishing for the lower blob Sanded to square, not final polish as more drilling for cross members. I am done for now, going outside for some sun and yard work
  18. Usual or unusual.......I prefer to be called unusual thank you very much
  19. Front extensions soldered, rear ones cut still need to solder Burnt my hand setting up this photo......darn stuff stays hot even after quenching in water
  20. Good morning Mr Jordan Ok, will do.....Those little trephines I made are barely a mm at their deepest, would weaken the frame rails too much any more My friend Randy showed me how much he tries to get the brass cut, drilled and shaped in the flat stage when you can handle it easier. So I need to map out a few more details before I start bending and soldering Cheers
  21. Thank you Dan and Stephan Just challenging myself to see if I can make something....kind of a learn as I go Stupidity is another word
  22. Ok, I am stepping off the edge into the deep end Too tired for soldering the frame up and I had some rum and coke, so maybe not get into flaming things tonight
  23. Good topic start here I like your Avatar, watch that show with my kids.....Schmebulock was my favorite gnome
  24. Ahh you bring back some memories with this build now When I was a kid in grade 8, I remember cutting out the rear covers and putting in metal mesh for my 1/20 Tamiya I thought it was awesome. This kit, I need to get it into my stash again!!! I think I was following a magazine photo story on it. This was when I got hooked on F1 and Tamiya ....misty water-coloured-memories.........sing along, you know the words
