I mounted the carbs and made a throttle linkage, some electrical bits also Don't like the chalky, sloppy look of the chrome paint on the carbs....Maybe the paint reacted to the aluminum? Thinking of going to the office and sandblasting them back to bare metal I need to get the paint on the body, but is so humid and wet out here Might have to spray in the basement So much babble, so little progress

Sorry Jordan, I forgot to post the measurements The wheels+tires have a 45mm diameter The spoke wheels are 30 mm diameter rim to rim with a 1mm flange for the wheel to seat

I think I stole that idea from your Pocher build I used a metal duct tape and am surprised how sturdy it is

Over a nice quiet Christmas afternoon, I added a dipstick and an oil line to the lhs Dipstick is brass and stretched styrene sprue...needs a little MG decal Made a little cardboard stand for easier handling of chassis and body

Your build looks good so far, I agree the 1/16 scale is fun and a bit easier on the old eyes This looks like a good kit; I might get one, chop the roofline and hot rod it up........or not as I have dug a huge hole of kits to make Cheers
-
Your awesome paint work absolutely screams out in these pics.....from shiny to weathered, you nailed it
-
There are so many classic early cars they could re-release, especially in the 1/16 scale I bought this kit Christmas eve $94 CAD....hope to do it up to near Harry's calibre
-
You are so welcome, Merry Christmas to you and yours Prayers for your wife's swift recovery ps: I bought my Alfa K73 today......will start a thread when it gets here Thank you so much for your help

Lovely leather, wood and chrome in that pic of the real one Floored by how fast this is coming together
-
Oh Cato, such sad news I wish both of you well and a fast recovery; models can wait This is the season for miracles, best wishes for the holidays

I don't want to derail your build here but the mention of lexan windows is interesting, like to her what you do I spent the last 30 min searching how to make acetate windows here and google Some use plastic from bottles or clear sheet plastic; no real definite vids or anything I have a small dental vacuuform machine we use for sports guards and such. I can easily get clear acrylic of various thicknesses but would need to make a heat resistant blank to mould on Hmmm, I bet you do something simple and brilliant

I respect that no nonsense, no fiddling, get down to business and build attitude You are master of accenting what is visible and important while weeding out the trivial non-visible that most of us get stuck on Cudos

I love seeing someone use their brain and skill and come up with parts rather than using a wallet and buying PE parts Very impressed
