  1. OH man again, you are one busy boy.Youv'e got at least four different projects going at once....And I really like them all.Keep the pics coming.Im a door drag car nut.Pro mod/Pro stock,BIG tire cars.Seems like you are too.And man you sure like your turbos. Its weird,I've never built a drag car model with a turbo. It Looked to complicated.I don't know, maybe I'll try it.Anyway, keep up the good work.Again, this is what I've been working on.66 Pro mod Nova
  2. Dam boy,you looked like u had an absolute blast building this really nice model.
  3. Does anyone know how long Shapeways has been in buisness?
  4. Hey Mark, sorry I never responded to you regarding Shapeways.I gotta say,I'm not looking to build these parts and cars with my own 3D printer.Although that would be cool.I just think Shapeways.com has got some wild stuff.Pro mod, chassis, engines, cages, etc.
  5. No I just sprayed it with filler primer.I really didn't think there was so much sanding items that came out of a 3D printer. No,but it's ok..I'm going to use a finer paper now,800,then probably 1000.Again,it's just a model, but I still hope I don't screw or up.?.But if I do,I'll buy another body, and try it again. As I said,I ain't no expert model builder.I think I'm ok,but as I've already said, there's pros on here.Ah I just do the best I can.Now as far as the wing. That came with the package I ordered, but I did have to install it.However, again,Shapeways sells all different scales, and packages. You can buy the Nova with everything together,or with the doors, front end, trunk),all removed for you.You can get a scoop,or get a hood/front end without one.Shapeways.com makes so many pro mod Drag cars, cages, and engines.Just google them. Its wild stuff.
  6. Hey Rob,can I ask what u paid for the black 86 Crown Vic car?Cause it kinda hurt a little bit spending like $60 with S/H for a 1/43 toy car.Ahhhhh,oh well.
  7. So I'm cruising eBay and came across a really cool find. And I think it's rare, cause I've never seen one.Its a 1/43 scale MIB black Crown Vic movie car..("With all the modern technology in the whole entire universe, and we driving around in Ford POS".lol ) I've got a pretty decent size police car collection(In different scales),Diecast, and plastic,so I had to have it...But it did cost me $55...Oh well,it's only money.
  8. Oh man this is great.I love weird but cool stuff.Great job
  9. Ah how I love those Darts....Mopar,or no car.Its that simple.Great job,and I really like the color.
  10. Wow,great job all around.
  11. What a mean looking Camaro.Great job on both car and truck.
  12. I'm trying something new. Thanks to Shapeways 3D printing. They make a great 66 Pro mod Nova. The quality is excellent.Ive gotta prep the body, and thanks to some other builders on this website, they explained how...Un like resin,or plastic. Thanks guys
  13. I have a friend who is been trying to restore a 75 Malibu, and turn it into a Laguna S3 replica. He's got a nice worked Chevy big block sitting on a stand in his garage, just waiting to be dropped in the car.Unfortunately the body, and interior have a long way to go.They are pretty cool cars.
  14. Click on his name,to go to his profile, and then u can send him a PM ....I think lol..
  15. Thanks Richard.Yea I'm no expert model builder.But we'll see what happens.
  16. I tell ya,I do believe Shapeways sells this body in several different scales, with different body options.I should've started with a smaller one.?
  17. Yea I love the body too.Just something about the 66,and 67 Novas. They simply make great race cars.Yea,I figure I'll go up to 800 paper.I tell u though, these 3D bodies are real hard to get right.I hope I can build it without screwing it up.Thanks for the suggestion. Then I'll do 1,000.After that,we'll see what happens.Ha ?
  18. So Im still sanding this this 3D printed Pro mod Nova.I've been both wet,and dry sanding the car so far with 400 grit only.I think I'm going to start sanding with a smoother grit.Any suggestions on the grits I should use? Thanks
  19. La da da la la da..?Just doing some more sanding. And one thing I can tell ya,it ain't easy.Man I wish this body was made of resin.Again still using 400 wet/dry grit...I'll eventually hit it with a couple more coats of filler primer, then sand some more.Ah we'll see what happens.
  20. Very cool build. But you gotta stick some real fatties in the rear,to fill up those wheel tubs.
  21. The body is really smoothing out.The sanding,I think, seems to be pretty easy.
  22. Hey Richard,I know what you mean,it's gonna be difficult to build.I mean obviously that depends on how crazy I want to go with the car..I just really like the pro mod class, and I was looking for a pro mod Nova for a long time..And thanks to the company Shapeways,I found finally found one.Now as far as all the circles, that's how a 3D printer creates things in circular layers. But last night I began sanding the body with 400 grit, paper, and the more I sanded, the smoother the body is coming out.So I'll just keep sanding, dry and wet sanding, and spraying filler primer.Hopefully it cones out well.
  23. Some more pics of the car.I'll use the 400 grit. Its so strange, the body looks like the circles, you would find in the center of a tree..Ha ha.I realize that things are created in layers in a 3D printers.Just looks odd. Also the chassis/cage is from a Pontiac prostock car, with some modifying.
  24. Sorry about the crappy photos
  25. A few pics of the body with two more light coats of filler primer.I guess the body is going to take quite awhile to be ready and fully dried in order to begin sanding.I guess it will be days, and weeks before any sanding can begin,or more.I'll Wait and see. Sorry having trouble with one picture.
