Amazing builds, Steve! Tim

Thanks, Ron! I've gotten a lot of good compliments on the paint scheme. Glad you liked it! Tim

Thanks guys! All of your outstanding work provides me with great inspiration in taking it one step further. You all have set bar really high and it keeps me going. Tim

I originally had the hood gun metal like the rest of the car, but wanted to try something a little different than usual. I think it fit the car really well and I'm glad I went with that combo. Thanks! Tim

Tom, I'm getting ready to order this set. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000TY190C/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1420069626&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SY200_QL40 Tim -
I just have to put the finishing touches on it now. Bumpers and chrome exterior pieces and lights. Tim

I think brush painting anything metallic usually doesn't work, or at least what I've learned when painting metallics. Tim

I love them all. Very nice work!!! Tim

Great work, Tom! Amazing detail work!!! They all don't have to be clean and shiny to be appreciated, and I've learned that watching guys like you build some great builds. Tim -
I wasn't sure at first, but I think it fits in nice. Once its put together, it won't look so out of place. Tim

After a .5 micron, very light wet sand and Novus #2, but no wax yet. I had a color change on the hood, so it will be titanium versus gun metal. Clear coating it now. Tim

Good stuff, Joe! Keep the pics and pics coming!!! Tim -
Thanks Joe! The key was thinning the clear enough to lay it down, which was trial and error, but I got it right by the third coat. It was a lot thinner than I expected, but it came out great. You do great work too! I'm following your build and picking up pointers all over the place. Merry (belated) Christmas, everyone. I had to take a two week break while family was visiting, but Santa stocked my work bench with a few models to keep my busy. :-)

3 coats of clear... In the dehydrator now. No wet sanding on this one since the clear flowed so good. Just a light buff and polish. Tim
-
I thought the gun metal was darker, but it will look good once the clear goes on. Thanks! Tim

Got to use my new spray booth today. Works like a charm and much needed! Base coat is done, just gotta spray the roof and then clear it. Tim

Those are some beautiful builds... Not sure mine are up to par just yet. Tim

Tamiya Base Coat/Clear Coat (Metallic Orange)

Thanks for the input, fellas. I want to stick with acrylic (Tamiya if possible) for my airbrush to make things a little easier. You guys have given me some good ideas to try out. Thanks! Tim -
Sorry, no love lost, I just wasn't familiar with acronym. Thanks for the compliments; I plan on attending a meeting one of these days, time permitting. No UPS work... Been serving in the Air Force for the last 19 years. Tim
