I think the wires look great, Joe. Nice detail work on the engine all around. Tim -
I made some good progress today and now I can concentrate on the paint. Interiors not much to brag about, but I'm learning a lot from you guys. Motor, drivetrain and suspension came out pretty good. Bedtime... Tim

67 Corvette Convertible Finished! Posted in Under Glass

Great work, Jim! Tim -
It helped out a lot. Drill, measure, cut and mount... Very easy. The hardest part was figuring out which way they were supposed to be routed. If they came with headers, that would have been cake. Lol. Thanks! I'll get some painted layed down this weekend on the roof at least. That titanium silver from Tamiya is very nice. Still rocking back and forth between metallic gun metal, or metallic Orange on the body. Decisions, decisions, decisions... Tim

Slow progress, but made a debt on the interior. I got my distributor from MAD today and got one side mounted. MAD makes really great products and I'm extremely happy with the quality. '57 Chevy plug wires are kind of tricky since they run behind the exhaust manifold and up. Tim

We have a 100lb yellow lab... she's enough at the moment. lol She sleeps next to our bed and doesn't make a sound, unless she hears something outside. Wires look great! I ordered some to make life a little easier, but yours came out great! Tim -

If I go with metallic orange, this is the color I'm trying to achieve. Tim -

Hi Joe, What gauge wire did you wind up using? I started my ignition set on my '57 build, but wound up order a few pre-built distributor sets from M.A.D. to make things a little easier. Looking forward to seeing some update pics. Tim -
Tamiya Base Coat/Clear Coat (Metallic Orange)
taaron76 replied to taaron76's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I thought about Pearl originally, but wanted to stick with acrylic and didn't think Tamiya made it in acrylic. -
I was looking for a metallic orange in Tamiya acrylic, but can't find it. Would a base coat of silver and clear orange do the trick? I'd love to see a pic if anyone has done it. I'm trying to get the right color combo for my 57 Chevy build and wanted titanium silver on the roof and metallic orange on the rest. Thoughts? If not, titanium silver on the roof and gun metal metallic gray on the body. Thanks! Tim

Amazing detail! Beautiful!!!

Very nice, Harry!

I bought a couple of different colors, but couldn't find Tamiya Titanium for the roof, so I will more than likely go with a silver roof and gun metal metallic for the body. Black and silver interior... Tim

Those tires and wheels actually came with the kit. I bought a few sets of Pegasus wheels a while back, but I liked these wheels for this build better. Tim
-
I got some of the detailed pieces done and ordered a prewired distributor from M.A.D. Working on the interior over the next few days. Tim
-
Awesome!

What I meant by it not being stock was that it won't be original stock. Bigger wheels, probably lowered a tad, etc.. I'm a "shiny" guy, but figured titanium silver and black will be the body colors. Tim

taaron76 replied to taaron76's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks Ben! I've been perusing the internet looking at interior pics, but just wanted to get some ideas on how people were doing the interior on their models. I am going with black and silver for the interior colors, just wanted to see some details for ideas. Tim -

I'll be starting my interior on the '57 Chevy and I'll steal this tip of your for making gauges. Tim -
Fellow modelers, I am currently working on a '57 Chevy Bel Air and I wanted to get some ideas for the interior. I haven't decided the exterior color, but I need some ideas for interior. If you don't mind, please post your interior pics (an exterior if you want). Thanks! Tim

I'll be using Tamiya paint, if that helps. Tim
