  1. Thanks - your bikes are pretty cool, also!
  2. Thanks - I certainly appreciate it!
  3. Hi,All; This one started out as a Revell Torch custom chopper kit. Frame shortened, de-raked and modified into single sided rigid configuration, front "downtubes" fashioned from chain from an old toilet tank flapper (hence, the bike's name), scratchbuilt motor mounts and airbrushed with Testors Metalizer Burnt Iron. Front suspension, including handlebars is made from kit triple trees, lower legs and K&S aluminum tubing. Engine is stock bottom end with modified Imex Harley cylinder heads and intake with scratchbuilt pushrods and cylinder sleeves from K&S aluminum. Exhaust is fashioned from Oatey plumbing solder and K&S aluminum. Seat is kit unit that has been narrowed and covered in doeskin leather. Paint is Testors Purple Sunrise over black with Mr. Super Clear. I would be remiss if I didn't mention that my favorite Van Halen song is "Unchained." It was a lot of fun to build. Thanks for looking and comments always welcome.
  4. Very cool! I have a stash of these particular chassis; back in the 80's, I built a bunch of pro street models with these. Thanks to you and your builds, I'm going to try and build something with them!
  5. Welcome to the forum! That's quite a project that you have going on there!
  6. Looks like you are off to a good start!
  7. I can see by your choice of engine that this will be one for the ages!
  8. Very nice start!
  9. Very nicely built - well done!
  10. Thank you - I was trying to save the original, but the front end had some issues. So I kept the original quarter panels rocker panels, trunk lid and hood. To this I added new doors and front fenders. After a bit more sanding and filling, I'm going to prime it.
  11. A small update: NASCAR front clip installed along with Foose wheels and tires from the Foose pickup kit.
  12. Impeccably done, sir!
  13. Ten years ago, I suffered the same injury picking up a heavy box the wrong way. The actor Mario Lopez also incurred the same injury and he had surgery. I did not have surgery and his arm looks the same as mine. You'll do just fine. Good luck and hope you heal well.
  14. Nicely done!
