  1. I like that I can find the Revogram stuff cheap, but I'm thinking about stepping it up a bit for the next purchase. Might start looking for something from Eduard or Hasegawa. Just to see what the fuss is all about.
  2. Wow Steve. Really great build. I love the color combo.
  3. Got another one of these today at Hobby Lobby.
  4. Picked up one of these today at Hobby Lobby.
  5. Agreed. This is probably as good as you'll find. The '73 kit is kind of a mess. Missing a lot of parts required to build it stock.
  6. That's awesome. Really nice build.
  7. I'm going thru the same thing, but in reverse. I still have a hard time with the idea of gluing fuselage halves together, attaching wings, etc... before paint. I get why you should do it that way, but being a car modeller for so long, it just goes against the grain for me.
  8. Yes! And a 1/25 AMX while we're at it.
  9. I'm guessing attaching them before paint stems from being primarily an aircraft modeller? Kind of like using NATO black earlier in the build. I never even heard of NATO colors until I started building planes. Regardless, it's really looking great so far.
  10. Cool! If you're not happy with this one, that's the only way to improve your skills. Looking forward to seeing more.
  11. Your painting and detailing skills are really nice. Very realistic. Looking forward to seeing more.
  12. Man I have too many irons in the fire as it is.
  13. That color looks sweet! Great looking older build. Between you and Joe, you're making me want to dig my Challenger out of the stash and go back to work on it. I finished mine in Panther Pink, but screwed up the clear coat and put it aside in disgust. Fifteen years ago...
  14. Got one of these today from ebay. Looks like a really nice kit. Oh yeah, had a couple bottles of Alclad II arrive too.
  15. Looks pretty cool to me! I wouldn't give it up based on that job. I like it.
  16. +1 I'm just patiently waiting for the whole 'rat rod' scene to die. Just hope not too many cars with potential get ruined before it happens.
  17. Wow! Love that green! This is gonna look great when finished.
  18. Thanks for the confirmations, gentlemen!
  19. Question for anyone who's built one of these things before: Is there any reason why I can't attach the front and rear panels to the body before paint and before installing the chassis/interior? I don't see anything that would cause interference, but I don't want to do it and then find an assembly problem later.
  20. Looking excellent. It's hard to believe this is your first shot at polishing. I've done it a half dozen times and that looks better than any of my attempts.
  21. I can relate to that. And a side effect is that it may renew your passion for car models in the process. Not to mention learning a TON of valuable techniques that you may not pick up doing cars. Looking forward to seeing your progress.
