Hi, As I'm about to finish my Porsche 936, I practically destroy the wheels while sliding em through the tires. I'm stripping and repairing them as we speak but I assume lubricating the inside of the rubber with say glycerin etc would help future endeavors? Pretty bummed about this. The wheels looked so cool etc... Oh well, its scale model building right, nothing ever smooth! PS Can I heat up the tires a bit?
Hi, So I managed to figure out what's what and labeled em to Harrys color code. His seemed like a logical/hard to forget scheme even though I have a foot note in each of my air brush cases.
Hi all,
Many thanks for the replies.
I've a PointZero air brush with no markings.
I'm still unsure what a proper pattern should look and feel like as this is all new to me.
Based on the pictures of the air caps, which would you surmise being .2mm, .3mm and .5mm?
I'm certain to have not mixed up spray tips with spray caps so they are properly matched.
Ok so I air brushed for the first time with what I think a .5mm needle.
At any rate tomorrow are various wheels etc...
Its Tamiya flat white which sprays easy.
I also practiced with various Vallejo colors which I almost had working. I'm ready to spray those tomorrow, some wild and cool colors.
All in all I am really enjoying air brushing. Some hiccups with clogs etc... but its part of the learning curve.
Well, I have 3 pieces in each needle set. I've the needle, being this long spear type thing that slides into the brush from the rear. I've this piece (lets call it a crown) that screws into the front of the air brush which the needles pokes through. And then I've this cap of sorts with a nipple on the end which screws into the front of the air brush which the needle and crown poke through. My conundrum is the cap really, as I notice the 3 caps each have different nipple sizes.
Hmm, looks like I will have to get one. So what measurements do I take of both the needle and its corresponding cap? Do you have a suggestion on what type of micro meter I should get? Hows this one from Umm-USA look; http://umm-usa.com/onlinestore/product_info.php?products_id=1904
Hi,
How can I tell the visual difference between .2mm, .3mm and .5mm needles?
I'm pretty bummed that I mixed em up.
But I did not mix up there corresponding caps, or at least I think i didn't
Or is there a spray pattern I can use to determine the difference?
Hi, I occasionally email this Italian caster; ABC Brianza. They've some very interesting subject matter. I've included there latest catalogue if any one is interested.

The body and chassis are from a Fujimi Chaparral 2D which has no engine detail. But the Kraco Indy is a Ford DFV V8 Turbo so this kit is totally Frankensteined, more of a concept car.
Thank you! I spent lots of time making the curves/fenders just so. Would have liked a touch bigger but it was hard enough. The paint on the wheels is a combo of Metalizer steel and aluminum and the chassis is a combo of Tamiya bare metal silver with touch of Metalizer aluminum. The power plant is from a Karco Indy and I since repainted the gold shocks as it was not smooth enough. The exhaust and turbo are totally re aligned and modified. The exhaust bits are Design Master black chrome. The tranny looks off alignment but is one piece and is off center looking naturally. This is a looooong term project and I'll have to stare at er for a bit to see whats the next phase.
Well, that's an excellent point. But I already have a butch of K&S stock on hand, got it for cheap. Many sizes, flat, round, square, hollow, filled... Starting to wrap my head around there many applications and uses.
Cool, thanks for all the relies. Think I'll give the HF tool a shot; http://www.harborfreight.com/1-8-eighth-inch-to-1-4-quarter-inch-tube-bender-94571.html
