My latest acquisition, the Revell Corvette gasser, purchased as a Christmas gift from me to me; Hobby Lobby 40% off. I also snatched a can of Star Spangled Blue lacquer while I was there.
I had about a dozen of the 1320's, but sold them a couple of years ago when I needed the cash. They held their value pretty well I thought. I've lived here all of my life, and have never known anything else.
That I also do. I'd never remember one year to the next what cool idea I dreamed up, if I didn't log that idea somewhere. This is true for all of my modeling ideas, which extend well outside of cars projects.
Interesting observation, Bill, thanks for pointing that out. This is the hood that came with the kit, so I'm OK with it. Besides, it looks pretty cool, I think.
I'll keep it in mind, Steve, so thanks. (I'll also put a small (very small) radius on the hood edges and fenders, so that paint bridging the two becomes less of a problem.
Gap turned out to be closer to .030 (almost exactly), so .015 strips have been glued to hood sides to close that gap. Once dry, I'll trim to size, putty as needed, then secure to body.
I have very limited display space, at least for the moment, so most will be carefully stored, then switched with others that are displayed, as the mood suits.
Well, I'm that way with a lot of cars, Chris. While I may like the real car a lot, that doesn't necessarily mean I'd ever want to build a model of it. I tend to stick with muscle cars and classic 30's/40's types, with an occasional 55 or so thrown in.
