  1. I like what I see so far.
  2. Not a bad reason at all, plus it's actually a pretty cool looking old car. I'm also considering a Hornet (probably not though), as well as a '53 Ford pick-up. So far, I have coin sets, US bills of varying denominations (including a mint red seal #2 bill), brochures, catalogs, and a pretty cool book that highlights the events of 1953. Just a sideline hobby of mine really.
  3. Wow that's a lot. Good job. Not bad at all for seven years.
  4. Yes, Excel is easily searchable, and will list any data included in any cell, regardless of where that cell is located within the workbook worksheet, and will list results of entire worksheet search.
  5. Not a bad idea at all. I can easily see myself tipping the scales at 400 pounds doing it this way.
  6. Nice, Tom. The windows on mine are terrible, and will need to be replaced.
  7. Just for kicks, I uploaded an Excel sheet, seems to be easy enough. Wingnut kits.xlsx
  8. Awesome news then, so thanks very much, fellas. I'll put one on the old "must have" list then.
  9. As is the case with many areas of my life, I'm drawn to 1953 related items (my birth year), so was looking at some 1953 year car and truck models, and came across the 1953 Ford Victoria by Lindberg. The name Lindberg makes my blood run cold, as I have never had a good experience with any model from that company. Still, what shots I've seen of the exterior, actually look pretty decent. Can anyone confirm, one way or the other, if this is a good or lousy kit?
  10. The camper in both the '59 and '65 kits, appear to be identical, yes. As to fit, I really don't recall, but I guess I'll find out. I haven''t started the camper yet, as I really need/want to replace all of the crummy kit provided windows (they look like thick wax paper), and I'm not ready for all that right now.
  11. I think we're both learning here, Jeff, as I'm sort of a "born again car modeler" myself.
  12. Sooner or later (perhaps sooner), I'll also be snatching a '68 Roadrunner, so that hood should work OK, I think? If not, I may consider sourcing another hood. The real problem is, I'll begin painting this in early January, but won't get the '68 until, at the earliest, late January, so I may just use what I have.
  13. Looks real good to me, and I really like that finish.
  14. Nice start. I like it so far.
  15. Indeed it is. AMT had some real nice box art back when.
  16. Thanks to the fellas on this site, I was able to determine which other El Camino kits had the camper I was seeking, that's specifically why I bought the '65, to snatch the camper. Perhaps you have a similar situation, with the camper having been available in other kits?
  17. Not really. Is there one in the '59 El Camino? I haven't really looked yet, though the tires are just outstanding. Once I'm comfortable that I can paint it OK (I've had some real "issues" with painting), I'll begin a WIP on it, but that might be awhile. This is one of those "had it when I was a kid, really want to do it again" models.
  18. Excellent. What a great looking body style, especially the rear end, I just love it.
  19. Yep, it's for this old classic, certainly a grail project for me. Now that I went through the effort to gather the right stuff, Round 2 will probably re-release it!
  20. Oh yes, me too. I can't begin to say how many times the photos have revealed things to me that I'd hitherto been unaware of. It's probably the single largest benefit I've received from modeling forums. Not the only benefit, but certainly a biggie.
  21. This was just delivered a few minutes ago, the '59 El Camino to go with my camper from the '65. I'm one happy guy right now.
  22. OK, now that strips have dried thoroughly, they're all sanded out and hood looks much better. I'm almost ready for primer here. Yee Hah!
  23. I like this,... very classy.
