  1. I'm not sure about the contest report coverage, but I assume they do while getting the builder information for the photo shoot. All I know for sure is that every time FSM has used an image of mine, they send me a complimentary issue, featuring that image.
  2. Same basic reasons I joined too, but almost without exception, all of my contacts (there really aren't all that many), are all in the same positions and with the same companies, as they were four years ago.
  3. Agreed, the '32 Vic is a sweetheart, and I'll be grabbing two or three more, eventually.
  4. FSM sends a complimentary issue to those with models (any models), that are used in their magazine. Does MCM also do this?
  5. I'm intending to get a small HO layout for the Christmas tree this year, but have never had a larger layout like I'd like to do.
  6. Very nice. Glenn (from Kittyhawk), is a member here, and this may just be one of their best efforts to date, from what I hear. Also very nice. Is this a rehash of another kit, as are most of the Encore boxings? I have the 1:48 F-102 (Monogram kit), but it's very nice, all things considered.
  7. I'd love the Olympia, but have nothing to offer in return.
  8. Always wanted to learn to play, but never did. The guitar that belonged to my father, was given to my brother, who in turn sold it off.
  9. Very cool, Harry. My experiences here have been overwhelmingly positive, but yes, there are a few annoying characters too. It's next to impossible to weed out the jerks completely, I'm sad to say.
  10. Yes and yes again. I really should pay more attention. That's twice that I've done that now. I think my mind is slipping away.
  11. Nice effort here, Joe. Toning down the chrome is an excellent idea, as they frequently do seem to be too "sparkly". I really regret letting my '32 Ford Phaeton get tossed, as I would love to have saved it. I have a replacement kit, but it's not the same.
  12. I do most of my painting in the basement. Outside is way too hot and humid, though there is also excess humidity in the basement, but later this year, I'll be putting a dehumidifier down here. My hygrometer currently reads 60% humidity in the basement.
  13. Indeed, and persevere I shall. The Outlaw Josey Wales is a favorite western of mine.
  14. Toothpaste, followed up with Novus 3,2 and 1. I guess I'll add the stripes, then clear coat and polish again. Does that sound like the right approach? I didn't do this with my Challenger, and had issues with the decals pulling off in chunks.
  15. Looks really cool. I may just have to hunt down one of these kits.
  16. Thanks, fellas. I really hope this one turns out better than my last two aborted attempts.
  17. Andy Griffin too.
  18. Polishing has yielded some pleasant results. Far from perfect, but a good start anyway.
  19. Clear coat now being added, and it looks real good to me so far. No bugs, fuzz-wads or other crud, though it could be a bit smoother. I'll add some more in another 20 minutes or so.
  20. I considered grabbing that one too, Joe, though it certainly wasn't five dollars.
  21. Went to a local HL to pick up some clear for this AMX, and while there, grabbed the AMT Three Stooges sedan. The sedan was on sale for a good price, or I probably would have waited until another day to get one.
  22. I really wish I'd had my camera, but there was a pretty nice looking '69 Chevelle SS/396 in the Schucks lot here this afternoon.
  23. It's sort of a professional facebook. I get requests from time to time, wanting links, from people I never heard of before in my life.
  24. Well yes, there are a few here, but there are always a few of those, regardless of subject matter. I just felt like venting a little is all, not really frustrated with anyone here, as I just dismiss them anyway.
