  1. I really like your illustration. What program did you use to create it?
  2. I really like that, Snake, very cool indeed.
  3. Yea i know, I goofed. There was a thread here at the time.
  4. And now Joe Cocker, what a drag.
  5. I like the blue one very much.
  6. I like it. I can sympathize regarding the masking, I'll have a ton of it to do on my 1:350 Enterprise.
  7. Thanks, fellas. The tentative plan (for the moment anyway), is to build a partial emplacement, such as the illustration below. It seems that the weapon was usually positioned so as to give a clear and unobstructed, 360° field of fire, so other than very unusual circumstances, probably wouldn't be located amongst ruins.
  8. Yep, darn shame, 67 is just too young. Like many here, Fragile and Close to the Edge, played on my 8 track machine in the car,... a lot.
  9. I think that would look excellent too, Ray, but I don't have a lot of photos depicting these guns in a confined space. It might be more logical to have it displayed in an open environment. I'm still looking into this.
  10. One of my more obnoxious habits, is starting innumerous projects, including bases for same, that then languish for years, as I move onto other projects and start all over again. The good news here, is that I have a large variety of partially constructed bases to choose from, that can be re-purposed for other projects, but it appears that I have none that will fit this project well, this one being just a wee bit small for my liking, so I'll probably end up building yet another. The big question now, is do I go with an urban or open terrain type setting?
  11. I neglected to mention that these new wheels/tires, came from a very generous transaction with Casey. Thanks again, Casey, I appreciate it very much.
  12. OK, now I'm set with four matching tires and wheels. I'll hang on to the deep dish Cragars for any other 1:20 kits that I may do in the future (perhaps another AMX).
  13. It's good stuff; expensive, but good. I like their chili-mac, fries and strawberry shakes, but the burgers are pretty darn good too.
  14. Cool. Please PM me if you would.
  15. While I was there, I also took several other tests, including the generic IQ test. No real surprises with the results, but always a lot of fun. Cool site, and bookmarked.
  16. Yes, Steak n' Shake, A&W, as well as several others here, used to all have car service, many times with nubile young lasses as waitresses, but now it's only Sonic.
  17. So since I'm right handed, I guess I'm using all that's left.
  18. Nice photo, Andy, thanks for that. I'll have to see if that part of engine will even be visible, as this will be a hood glued closed model, so I don't want to waste time on stuff that'll never be seen on the finished car.
  19. I still can't believe you painted all that chrome trim, it looks really good. What paint did you use for that (the trim)?
  20. Where would the parachute risers attach to the car, the frame somewhere?
  21. Waiting, that's what irks me almost every day. I've been waiting for something for over a month now, and I just keep on waiting. It's really beginning to tax me, that's for certain.
  22. Interesting stuff. My knowledge of Funny Cars, begins around the time of the Hawaiian, Chi-Town Hustler, Snake and Mongoose types, and they were substantially different than this car, which I just see as an altered wheelbase modified street car. Thanks for the list of kits, Rich, I'll try to hunt down a few to add to the old stash. I think perhaps I actually had the Falcon. I painted it a real light purple, if I recall correctly.
  23. Worth a lot more than that. I'm not even sure the term, "funny car", is appropriate for this style of car, but certainly the earliest FC's were a far cry from what we see today. I'll probably shoot the interior some version of black, as you suggest, so thanks for that. Also, when you refer to "these kits", exactly how many of these AMT altered wheelbase kits were there? Any idea? I had been wondering about that, because there were probably more that I've forgotten about, and I might like to take a stab at some others.
  24. I'm not, but I'll do my best, that's all I can do.
