  1. With the back end of the base ground fairly square, the connection looks as if it'll work out OK.
  2. They don't seem to go for much, about the cost of a standard 1:24 car kit (I think).
  3. Nice!
  4. Work on the rear of the base is proceeding nicely. I guesstimate about two more hours will see this area finished.
  5. Thanks, G. I figure about two bottles of Tamiya, max.
  6. Very cool project. Never saw the movie, but somebody certainly took some liberties with reality.
  7. Looks excellent.
  8. 70 Challenger, R/T or T/A, hardtop or (in the case of the R/T) convertible. 340, 383, 440, 426, I don't care, just give me a 1:12 Challenger.
  9. I have one here somewhere, and have absolutely no use for it.
  10. Gun sight gets some additional embellishment (as well as some ejector pin "patches").
  11. Work on the gunners' seat support continues (almost done with this area now). Though not technically correct, I've added brass rods under the .030 seat adjustment brackets, as I felt that the .030 strips would twist and warp over time.
  12. I was rather stunned at the 70% car sales figure, I would have assumed it would have been much lower than that.
  13. Looks real good. Any more photos?
  14. I believe it's an acrylic lacquer, and should be fine on polystyrene, but I'd check first on some scrap.
  15. I have just been made aware of yet another book that I need to throw on the pile, this Nuts & Bolts volume. I have 15 or so N&B books, but unfortunately, not this one.
  16. All three leveling leg locations are bogus representations, but this aft area is the worst culprit, and will require a complete rebuild.
  17. There's a hinged door with footing ridges on it, right under the gunners area. I have no idea what it's for, but I'm faking it in anyway. Overnight, two of my little hinge pieces moved, so I'll replace with new ones (better spacing).
  18. Elevation and traverse hand wheels are receiving some corrections and additional details, but this is just the beginning.
  19. And the work drags on. This area (gunners seat), has the support arms molded as solid blocks, when in fact they should be open, so I'm rebuilding this area.
  20. That makes sense. As to display space, I'll have to figure that out when I get there.
  21. Scale reference (I still can't get over the size of this beast).
  22. Well, the first of the two boxes (whatever they may be for) is installed now. Small pieces of .030 strip used to represent the skip welding frequently seen.
