OK, chassis is mostly complete now. The shocks were a little strange, but at least they're now there.

Automotive (and other) toys from our childhood

This is making me want to buy a set of darts now. I wonder if they still sell the darts with the wooden bodies. I'll Google it. -

How about those darts or arrows we fired, with suction cups on the end? I was forever trying to get them to stick to the TV, windows, refrigerator, or whatever. -

Seems like it's just a matter of advocacy. Whoever screams the loudest about something dangerous for the little tykes, gets heard. Perhaps careless and irresponsible parents should be banned. -

I have a "Jarts, banned in the USA" T-shirt around here somewhere. Whenever my parents had a big get together with friends and neighbors, Jarts is the one game everybody wanted to play. -

Up until the time I moved out of my old house (about 18 months ago), I had a pristine original set of Jarts, and as far as I know, they are banned from sale in the US. The set was unfortunately lost in the move. -
Paint and tires arrived today (paint for '30 Ford above, tires for some '60's cars I'm working on.)

My latest (just arrived today). I've ordered some Cobalt Green that I think will look just great on this baby.

I owned a '66 years ago, and really miss it. I loved the front end, but I always thought the rear was a bit of a bore. I'll be snatching one of these '65's sometime in the near future, as it looks like it's probably as close as I'll ever get. I'll really look forward to to seeing where yours heads.

The only shows I have with McGavin, is the first season of Kolchak; the night stalker. You reminded me that I have at least one season (possibly two), of The Saint. The Fugitive is another that I have almost a complete collection of; only one season to go, as far as I recall. I have some Maverick, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, The Rifleman too, as well as Big Valley and Rawhide.

Nope, never even heard of the first one. My collection at the moment, is a strange mix of older and newer, like Tales from Tomorrow and Rockford Files.

I know. I've scribed aircraft models before, but I don't think I'll bother for the most part with car models, at least not for now. More than likely, as I become more comfortable with car modeling in general, I'll eventually give it a try though. Several reasons, mostly the gobs of additional detailing that I don't feel up to doing yet. Thanks for looking in. I'm really hoping to get some primer on this in the next few days. I'm pretty close, but not quite there.

What non-auto model did you get today?
Roadrunner replied to chunkypeanutbutter's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Yep, the Schiffer book is another in my collection. Over the years, I've amassed a pretty good amount of books on the Tiger family, concentrating more specifically on the Tiger, but many on the King Tiger and Jagdtiger as well. -

Yep, art deco architecture was very popular for a while here, and clear blocks were frequently used in certain styles/versions of art deco. Up until fairly recently, there was a rather famous (infamous) motel located on old route 66, just about two miles south of here, that relied heavily on clear blocks as a portion of the design of various elements of the motel. -
I've got quite a few TV shows on DVD too. Catching up on Highway Patrol and Sea Hunt now, as well as Peter Gunn.

And you would be correct.

Here's one for you fellas. (I don't believe she's made an appearance here yet.)

I appreciate the suggestion, Rich, but I'm not sure I'm up to scribing on a car model just yet.

Revell JU-52.

Did you clear coat the model first? I can't tell from the photos. -
How About Some Stalled Projects?
Roadrunner replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I like that camper shell, Tom. -
Assuming I stuck with one project only (and that'll never happen), I should be able to bang out a curbside model, every two weeks or so.
