  1. Mine is 1:24. I briefly considered selling it, but I have two 1:25 armor kits to finish, and I decided to use it in a vignette with one of the two, probably the Jagdpanther.
  2. Oh yes, the little Kat was given to me Friday, I'm very pleased to now have one.
  3. I'm duly envious, that is a great kit. I have a few books on the S and E series boats, they were very cool vessels.
  4. Well, gents, it was exactly one year ago today that I joined MCM. I still haven't finished even one car model yet, but I've had a real good time here, and feel that I've learned a few things. It's amazing how time flies by.
  5. I'm not entirely new to astronomy, Ed, just renewing an old pastime is all, one that I've long since forgotten the particulars of. My father belonged to the McDonnell Douglas astronomy club years ago; I accompanied him to many a star gazing event, and thoroughly enjoyed it, plus we viewed on many a night in our own back yard. Perhaps the planets I enjoyed most were Saturn and Mars. He had a 6" reflector, and it was just fine for that task. I've looked at some used 'scopes, and still have not determined what's best for me initially, but I'm thinking perhaps something in the 102mm range. Before then though, I'll probably content myself for the moment with tripod mounted binoculars.
  6. I have to confess my ignorance here; what or who is S&M?
  7. I believe 4006 here is due to be restored too, and it definitely needs it, as it's beginning to really fall apart.
  8. Certainly not as nifty as a real car or truck, but I received this cool planisphere today. I sit out on the deck frequently at night, and when the sky is clear, can see a great many stars and such, but have no real idea what I'm looking at. Hopefully this well help resolve that problem, then later when I buy my telescope, I'll be better prepared to know what to look for and where to find it.
  9. Women can be so narrow minded that way.
  10. Me, I'll stick with the '53 straight out of the box, as that was my original intent anyway. Swapping parts to do my dad's '52 may be something I want to do down the road though.
  11. I remember sitting on the back porch with my grandpa, watching the big diesels pulling box cars and tankers through town late at night, it was a glorious time in my young life, and created memories that I hope I'll never forget.
  12. Interesting perspectives here. I can't really recall when I began this practice, but I've been doing it for quite a long time now.
  13. I'm generally not a fan of fender-less cars, but this looks terrific.
  14. Nifty! Reminds me of my '66 Grand Prix.
  15. Splendid job, Ron.
  16. This looks terrific,... very nice.
  17. Real nice offer, Tom, but certainly nothing that interests me.
  18. Hopefully, I'll be heading back down to the museum in the spring, and I intend to take a lot more photos as reference for my own Big Boy project.
  19. The thing is huge alright. Correct. Here's a snap of 4006 at the transportation museum here in St Louis.
  20. I think that with me, it's the one way to make absolutely, 100% positively sure that I'll at least get a few things that I really, really want as Christmas gifts. It's the little kid in me I guess.
  21. That's gorgeous, she should be very proud.
  22. Another photo of what I assume to be the same car.
