  1. After a quick web search, it appears the grill is more '52 like,... darn, it would have been great to not only do a '53, but have it also represent my dad's car at the same time; kind of a double whammy as it were.
  2. While scrounging through some photos last night, I stumbled upon this. It's me when I was just a munchkin, standing in front of my dad's 1953? My brother thinks this may actually be a '52, but I can't confirm. Any ideas?
  3. Interesting idea. Thanks, Charlie, I'll look into it.
  4. Yea, I was checking out some of their stuff just last night. I'm not real sure I'm ready to make the leap to P.E. yet though.
  5. I'll look very much forward to seeing it, Gene.
  6. Very nice, Jeff. I hope mine turns out as nice. I'm guessing I'll go Timberline Green/Seafoam Green with mine, but I'm not 100% sure about that at this time.
  7. The general consensus seems to be (I posted this question elsewhere too), is that it's a perfectly acceptable practice, which I'm very glad to hear, not that I intend to stop doing it, regardless.
  8. Yea, I can tend to be rather gabby at that.
  9. Looks cool to me.
  10. I'm not really knowledgeable at all about these cars, so I really have no idea, but then neither will any of the visitors to my residence, so that's perfectly OK with me.
  11. That Charger is on my "to get" list, Dave. I asked for it (and four other cars) for Christmas, we'll see what happens I guess.
  12. I realize full well that some of the most sophisticated painters on the forums use nothing more elaborate than an old coat hanger for painting, but I still felt the need to grab a Tamiya paint stand, so I could see what all the fuss was about. I must say, I’m pretty happy with how stable this arrangement is, plus it rotates, and I had not known that before.
  13. I hear ya'. Perhaps Harry would OK moving this to the racing forum, those fellas might show more interest. It's odd perhaps, but as much as I like racing cars (quarter milers mostly), I seldom visit that section of the site. Perhaps I need to change that.
  14. In the past, I have had an annual tradition of gifting myself with a Christmas gift (or two). This goes so far as to my wrapping said gift(s), so that I can then unwrap them during our family celebration, usually Christmas eve or day. Does anyone see this practice as being too weird, or do you yourself ever do something similar? I see many, many folks on various forums exclaim that they bought this or that as a Christmas gift for themselves, but do you go so far as to actually wrap it?
  15. And yet another of my Christmas gifts from me to me, the AMT ’40 Willys. While I was placing order, I also threw the paint stand and Root Beer paint in the cart (for a '69 GTX I'm working on). I’ll probably part out the Willys, giving away the truck body, as I have no need for it.
  16. I agree, Kev, that model above, is far better looking than anything I'm likely to come up with.
  17. My apologies in advance, but do you really believe that less than one day offers a sufficient degree of interest determination?
  18. I have a milestone coming up soon too. I joined this fine site on Christmas day last year, so Friday will be a one year anniversary for me.
  19. I looked at their 330 too. It looks similar enough to the Polara, that I might just grab one of those too, as the Polara was the first car that I ever owned and drove, though I had a '57 Sunliner before that, but never drove it.
  20. Well at least I have proper tail lights, thanks to your generosity, so thanks very much for that.
  21. Paint looks great, and I think the tail lights look just fine. Nice job.
  22. I'll be sure to go check.
  23. This is one that I've also wanted to tackle, but it's well down the list, so may be quite some time before i can get to it. I'll be eyeballing this one, for sure.
  24. Top notch stuff here.
