Arnd, Looking god thus far. Your mirror brackets look good. We used to call those west coast mirrors back in the day. The could be chromed or painted. The mirror part the frame ussually had rounded conrners. I drove a C-60 in 1970 that was painted white and the mirrors were also painted white. Be Well Gator

Ford LTL9000
gatorincebu replied to Bison's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Wyatt, Nice start on this project. I wouldsuggest, That when you try to weather this model. Use a little bit of paint and a lot of thinner .To mix what we call a wash. Then you can brush it over the motor or whatever. And keep adding to it .Until you get the desired effect. Be Well Gator -
JT, The orange will look good with the kit decals! If you decide to use them. But I do know this. Whatever you do to it. It will be a killer project! I have one of these in the stash. I originally bought it with an eye towards making a crane carrier out of it. I also had someone cast a bunch of the wheels and tires for me. To use on future projects. Be Well Gator

Well people are going to complain no matter what. So??? I am for any parts packs that would broaden the possibilkityies of building more than one of a particular model. Say the A-car with the Montone dump then another with the Heil dump. Parts packs would make that more feasable. Of course you may have to modify the frame but. That is what model building is about. Look at what you need to do to build a AITM resin kit! Be Well Gator

Cool build! And no imho you don't need all the plumbing and photoetch parts to build a show stopping model! Be Well Gator -

I say go for it. Build it as long as you want. It is your model. Andnobody said it has to be an actual replica or even a possiblility in 1 - 1. I would use .030 - .040 sheet for the walls. And if you if you want to do rounded corners. Put etra plastic strip on the inside ofplastic on the inside of each corner . I would also highly recomend some sort of solvent to bond the plastic. As opposed to super glue or epoxy. And you might want to add some lateral strips on the inside to prevent bowing. Especially since you aren't planning on doing the interior yet. Be Well Gator
