Four 1\32 trailers for my 1\25 trucks!
gatorincebu replied to Chu's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Jesus, i like the idea for the container trailer. I used to work for a construction company that had several 10x10 and 15x 15 cantainers used for storage on job sites. They were just a bit smalled all the way around than a regular container box if you had cut it down. For your graintrailer. I think I would add a support in the middle for the tarp. Cool projects. be Well Gator -

Some nice work going on here.Well beyond my comfort zone. but I will be watching this one for sure. be Well Gator -
You are off to a good start. I agree spokes all the way around! For wheels and tires AITM is a good place to go. OR plaskit has some nice ones as well. If you want an old truck with newer wheels KJ has nice two hole wheels and some nice tires. And he also has some nice grab handles for the dump box as well. be Well Gator

Jeff, I like what you have going on here. KFS is still in business and it is not hard to oprder from Him. But I bought a couple of the metal front axles from gary Wallace when I went to the Fulton show back in November. But I do not have his contact info. There is however another problem with assmbling the frame. The cross memebers do not have true 90Angles on the ends. You need to sand them square very carefully. This angle is due to helping the parts out of the mold. Personally I would heat the frame rails and then lay them on the becnh and put weights on them to hold then straight. And let them cool. That process has worked for me in the past. I also put all the cross members in hold the rails together with rubber bands and then use Tenax or or solvent to weld the frame. Don't give up man, hang in there. Be Well Gator

Moebius smooth side van trailer

KJ, The trailer looks real good. I like the super's. I am also growing to like the idea of the fairings. An off shoot of the fuel economy is the idea that the fairing's make people more aware they are next to a trailer. And I think they look better than the underun bars I have seen here and in pictures of truck in Europe.. Be Well Gator -
