Interesting build! The colors really work for me. As they are what I used to use on most of my Gator Trucking models before I moved to the Philippines. I will be changing colors now because of the paint that is available here. But Jim is right. That color combo is most often associated with Roadway! Be Well Gator -
Mike, I believe I have one of the mags that had that article. However it is packed away from my moving and will most likely not see the light of day anytime soon.Too many other things going on with a higher priority! As for *issing somene off. I try not to go about doing that! be Well Gator

1925 Ford Model T Pickup
gatorincebu replied to Jim B's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Jim, Nice start on this one. Though I think I would have painted the motor and chassis before putting them together, I like the idea of the wood wheels as well. Be Well Gator -
A few years ago model builder and magezine writer mark Gustafson did a article on how to build that custom truck. But I do not know which model mag it appeared in. Be Well Gator

Oh yes! And the tube glue that peole started sniffing. I started building models in like 61 or 62. Truck model in 1970. Don't have any of the car models, but I still have all my truck models. Remember Autoworld? Car kits for $1.49? And on and on!!! lol Sometimes it is nice to sit back and remember what it was like back in the Day!! Be Well Gator

Jim, I am liking what you have done here. As for your heavy handedness??? Maybe you should lay off the testosterone!!!! lol Seriously Even though this project has been on the round to it shelf. When something goes bad. Stop take ten deep breaths, and then scream. Then get back to work. lol be Well Gator -
Will, Real nice looking Ford you built there. Isn't being retired wonderful? I retired 4 years ago may. Moved to the Philippines two years ago last December. I love it all. As for the spray booth. I say go for it. But I will stick to the rattle cans. but may also try to learn to use my airbrush! lol Be Well Gator

Helmut, Real nice job on that one. A very plausible model of what could have been back in the day. Be Well Gator -
Anyboy built one of these Fire Truck?
gatorincebu replied to youngtiger1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have one I started some time ago, and another still in the box. I was going to modify one to a mechanics/ riggers truck for a crane erection crew. But the model is well done and as you can see. There is a lot of room for creativity.I may juts build the other one out of box. Be Well Gator -
Volvo N10 Mill Truck

Nice job you did on this working truck! be Well Gator -
JT, I know I posted on this somewhere, but not here. I like what you have going on here. And Yes I do like the JT orange!!! I like your front axles swap. I think I will do the same only use the metal axle I got from Gary Wallace. As for a trailer a bed bugger works well , but a auto rack would work also. So I will be following this to see what other neat ideas you come up with. Be Well Gator

Spread Axle Flatbed Toolbox Dimensions.
gatorincebu replied to fantacmet's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
An alternative might be ? To uise the tool box in the Italeri part pack. You could build it then cut it to the depth you need. And all you would need after that is to put a back on it and possibly scratch build some mounting brackets. Hope this idea helps! be Well Gator -

gatorincebu replied to Fat Brian's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Interesting approach to building that tanker! The truck looks good with the modified stacks and breahter intakes. Your color choice is cool. Be Well Gator
