  1. Thanks Pete! Hope this one can turn out as well as the reference car.
  2. Since I finished my Pennzoil R34 Skyline I’ve been itching to start on this kit. This is a Tamiya R35 Skyline. I have searched a lot to find something that I could use for some inspiration on the build, and I found exactly what I’d want if I could have a 1:1 in my garage. Paint is going to be Splash Paints OEM Katsura Orange, with bronze Volk Te37 wheels. I ordered some 19” wheels but these are too small for the kit so I have some 20” Hobby Design wheels on the way from Japan . I started out by sanding all the mold lines off and scribing some panel lines. The mold lines aren’t bad but are definitely evident. Also the panel lines like all Tamiya kits, are defined and crisp, but my opinion they are never deep enough. With multiple layers of 2k clear they could be lost. This can be seen on the drivers side lines that haven’t been scribed compared to the panel lines on the passenger side which I did scribe.
  3. Looks great! Always love the FD RX7
  4. Thank you Dave. All that is left now is the front bumper. I have to strip it and respray it due to too much handling on the spazstix chrome.
  5. Sweet looking build. I have a 1/20 scale version from Lindberg, this gives me motivation to build it, lol. I have had 2 1:1 Twin Turbo R/T cars and these tail lights look 100% accurate on your build. Also, your blue is pretty close as well. I built a Tamiya 3000gt VR-4 in the OEM Mitsubishi Fiji Blue that is the same color pretty much, just a different name from Chrysler. Great build man!
  6. Definitely will be coming to this one and entering the builds I have been working on! Can't wait to see what everyone brings.
  7. Lol, thanks Pete. And I hope neither of us have to strip one down again, but you know it is bound to happen.
  8. Pete this is an awesome looking build. I have been wanting to build one of these myself. Great job on the striping and repaint by the way..could never tell there was a mishap. I have done this myself, and you are right, it takes numerous attempts to get it all off, even with brake fluid.
  9. Thanks Bruce! It's hard to believe I put this one on the shelf for so long.
  10. Update, lol. I got the hood, smooth firewall, floor pan, and engine cover sprayed in mica silver and then sprayed the clear orange over them this evening. I haven’t sprayed this color in 2 years..but I think it matches pretty closely. Tomorrow I hope to be able to start gluing body parts into the chassis. Then it will be almost done!
  11. Well, I didn’t realize it has been this long since I put this one on the back burner lol. I just finished a super detailed Skyline build and wanted to try to finish this one up before an upcoming show on the 18th. There’s not much left to be finished. I had to build a smooth firewall and I have to repaint the hood and engine cover, as well as make a floor pan. But here is a quick fit of everything as it sits now.
  12. Super clean build! The color suits it very well. Would be awesome to see it out in the sun.
  13. Love this build. The stance is perfect. I have one of these in my stash, and this is exactly how I see building it as well. Love the color too!

  15. Thank you sir!
  16. Thank you Oliver.. I hope I can get it finished up this time, lol.
  17. Thank you very much Rich
  18. Thanks David That is true. I try not to, as I fear I'll never get the notion to finish them, lol.
  19. Beautiful build. I love the color and cleanliness of this whole truck. I have this kit in my stash and it is making me want to build it now, lol.
  20. Thanks JC I should be able to get this thing wrapped up within the next week. Should have never put it on the back burner. It was pissing me off though, lol.
  21. Thanks Carl!
  22. Thank you very much! I learn more and more on each build I do. Lots of help and good people/info here on the forums!
