  1. The heck with the Coke decals.. sign me up for 2 or 3 of them :-)
  2. Cool ! Looking forward to seeing what you're gonna do.
  3. I laid a sheet of 600 grit on a piece of glass and then sanded the mating surfaces on it. It lined up really well and I didn't lose a single rivet in the deal. Take your time. I basically glued one seam at a time (with Tamiya Extra Thin) -- i.e. left, then top, then right for each pair of surfaces. Have everything rubber banded together and lined up when you do it. It's a pain, but it can be done.
  4. Thanks for the posts. A guy over on Hank's forum drove a couple of IH's with 903's and he confirmed they came red. Just like for Pete and KW, the Cummins engines stopped shipping painted white along the same time in the mid 70's.
  5. Hi -- that's totally fine. It doesn't have to be a box kit. If you want to do a resin cab and post a pic of it and a pile of parts, that's cool too ! Thanks!
  6. Well, that's quite a ways "down the road" from a shrink wrapped kit. I think in fairness to all, I'll have to decline on this one as everyone else will be starting from bare plastic from an unopened kit. Thanks
  7. Please post a picture of where it is now. Thanks !

  9. Hi all: I've been searching high and low without much luck -- but I know someone here has the answer (and maybe some pictures). I'm getting ready to build an IH 4270 kit (the Ertl 1/25 kit) for the TAT 2018, and the box art shows the Cummins 903 as red in color. Well, I've only managed to find *one* 1:1 picture of a 4200 with a 903 in it, and that engine was black. I'm not sure if the box at is wrong ? Or maybe that particular 4200 had a re-man 903 in it ?? Here is the link to the photos -- note the description says "low mile overhaul": https://www.auctiontime.com/listings/trucks/auctions/online/7595459/1972-international-4200?ohid=7595459&SCF=True Any info or photos would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  10. Thanks, I think I've seen some posts on here where they found some pre-painted ones at Hobby Lobby or a similar place.
  11. Thanks Mark ! Yeah -- I was worried that the striping was on the decal sheet, and then realized when I opened it that these "old school" Ertl kits didn't have any paint striping on the decal sheet. So, yeah I'll be getting a set of the striping decals from Modeltruckin to match the box art.
  12. OK -- Here's my entry for TAT 2018 -- it's still in it's original hermetic, germ-proof, factory shrink wrap :-) It'll be a box stock build -- I hope. We'll see when we get to the decals. I'm already fearing that they'll explode into a thousand bits once they hit water.
  13. Where do you all get those figures that you put in your trucks (drivers, wives, etc.), standing next to the trucks, etc. in your photos ? Is there some that makes 1/24 and 1/25 figures ? Thanks
  14. I found this Facebook page for the show... but no good pictures of the k-123. https://www.facebook.com/Movin-On-380608825314741/
  15. Hey all: You can start sending me your entry whenever you want -- please include a picture of the in-box kit you are entering. I'll be starting a new thread that will be "sticky" named "Truck-A-Thon 2018 Entry List" shortly. Thanks! Jeff
  16. I've been binge watching series 2 on Amazon Prime. Loved the epsiode at Charlotte Motor Speedway. And season 1 on Amazon doesn't have "In Tandem" either :-(
  17. This is open -- you can do box stock or custom/modified.
  18. This has traditionally been a "big rig" truck-a-thon. But what did you have in mind ? Thanks
  19. HI -- As I said in the first post, I think April 16. This will give everybody time to get past the tax deadline and have that off their plate. Finish would be Jan. 31 since we're starting a bit late, but we could be a little flexible on that depending on what everybody thinks. Thanks
  20. Yeah! I'd really like to build a K-123 replica of Wil's truck. Thx!
  21. Hi all: Looking to carry this forward, we'll start with the basic format from last year -- with the exception of point #3: 1. must have fun 2 monthly update 3. 1/24 or 1/25 scale I'll post a monthly recap each month of progress -- if there is no update for an entry in that month, it will be dropped from the contest. This is just to keep everyone motivated and hopefully help everyone finish a project. In the absence of any other donations, I will personally donate a $25 gift certificate to either plastic-models.com or megahobby.com for the "crowd favorite". Any suggestions welcome !!
  22. Thanks! I've been getting "my fix" of Movin' On episodes on YouTube. I watched those when they first aired as a kid and absolutely love them. But I wasn't aware of the "In Tandem" episode/pilot and really want to see it.
  23. Yes ! AMEN!
  24. I don't have hulu -- i've been watching the "pro-classic" episodes on YouTube.
  25. Is there a video anywhere of this pilot epsiode ? I'd like to see the KW conventional in that show and also the COE that Will was driving. Thx
