  1. I have a template from a window net kit I ordered from Detail Master years ago. I don't know if such a thing is available still or not. The window net is just paper though, cut using the template and glued together with Elmers School Glue. I brush painted it with flat black acrylic, mounted it on two wire rods and glued it to the rollcage.
  2. Enjoyed building this one!! Painted her up slick, slammed some powerslides on, scratch-built several parts, and here she is!! My first NASCAR build in about 17 years. I can promise you this, as much fun as I had on this one it won't take me that long to build another!! More detailed info on the build on the NASCAR forum if you're interested.
  3. Also cut the steering wheel off and laid it on the dash, scratch built the steering column, added the radio wire, and added valve stems and various markings to the wheels and tires.
  4. Just completed this build a few days ago. My attempt at the "Underbird". Started out with an old Bill Elliot "Batbird" kit. Ordered powerslide decals from Mikes. Primed twice, painted with Duplicolor Universal White twice, painted the orange with Krylon "perfect pumpkin", cleared twice and polished and hand-rubbed out. Water sanded between each coat. Added several details- scratch built seatbelts, window net, MSD boxes, fuel overflow tube, and window clips. Also made the front windsheild straps from electrical tape. Was going to detail under the hood, but I became very anxious to finish. Made a couple snafus with the decals, one on accident and one on purpose. I'll see if you guys can point them out. Very pleased with this build. This is the first NASCAR I've done in probably 17 years. I already want to start another, but have many honey-do projects to complete first. Hope everyone enjoys.
  5. Sharp! Engine bay is awesome!!
  6. Hey guys- I was wondering if anyone has pics of a NASCAR engine they've plumbed and wired? I'm working on a '92 thunderbird and I've googled some ref pics but I can't see where some hoses are coming from/ going to. Anybody got some tips and pointers? I've got enough material to do some plug wires and I have some braided line if I could figure out how to make some fittings for it. Any help appreciated! Thanks!
  7. Love em!! Darrell's my 2nd favorite driver of all time! I have the mt dew Buick in the closet. Yours looks better though. Mine had its left eye knocked out and lost sometime over the last 20 yrs. I should take it down and take a pic sometime.
  8. My first build was a small plane of some sort. I was probably 7. As I recall, I put most of it together with scotch tape. It was not a pretty sight at all.
  9. Those are really cool cars. I really love those paint jobs!!! Awesome colors and finish!

  12. Now that's what I call "Sharp as a Tack"!!!
  13. Super sharp! If it were green I believe it'd be exactly like Stallones car in the movie "Cobra". Love that red though.
  14. Nice lookin ride!! I love that color!
  15. Anybody ever have trouble w power slide decals? I was about to order some from mikes. Is the stuff he sells really good quality? And I the only one on earth that has never used any kind of decal set? Should I?
  16. Awesome!! I love those older more obscure rides!
  17. Love these models!! Especially ol DW's ride and Earnhardts! Love seeing the more obscure drivers' cars as well- are these recent builds? How is your experience w decals on these older kits? Do they usually hold up or do you have to search for new ones?
  18. Nice!! Love the color!
  19. Excellent! I built this kid as a kid...and it looked exactly like a kid built it! Yours is much better!
