  1. A little update. I cut the spring off and stretched the front suspension to elongate the wheelbase and lower the front... ... Z'ed and elongated the rear frame and bolted in the rear spring ... ...took the front half of some Lindy wire wheels and made JC Whitney wire hubcaps over steelies ... ... real T's were steel skin over a wood frame so I made a balsa frame and aged it with a black wash ... ... same for the floor ... ... door handles are streight pins with solder wrap ...
  2. Have you SEEN them lately ??????????? Both are in their 60's !!!!!! I sure wouldn't turn down anything from them !!!!!!!!
  3. Heres where I keep my vintage glue collection. It works for paint too.
  4. Plasti-kote gloss black with pinstripe decals then Krylon Matte Finish ... Plasti-kote metallic blue with pinstripe decals then Krylon Matte Finish ...
  5. I've used it over Plasti-kote lacquer with no problem. Never over Testors. Try it on a test panel of sheet styreen first.
  6. You know I love your stuff Dave !!!!!!!! Heres a teaser, the rest are here, http://s243.photobucket.com/albums/ff310/comp1839/1-8%20AA-FA/
  7. Paint it any color you want and finish with this ... If you want it a little shineier put a coat of wax on it. .
  8. If you're just gonna spray floor polish out of it you can get a cheap air brush and canned propellent for less than $25.00 http://www.tcpglobal.com/airbrushdepot/8821x.aspx If you're going for long term use ya need to educate yourself. Buy the cheap one and play with it to see if you really want to invest in a good setup. PS, as stated before, you can brush on Future Floor polish. It's self leveling. I set the body on an up ended brick in a plastic bowl and pour it on. Of course I'm lazy.
  9. I started to build this body as a full cab pickup but didn't like the way it was looking so I stopped at a roadster pickup. I was gonna trash it but figured I had to much work in it so it's gonna be a rat RPU. I haven't decided what engine or really how I'm gonna finish it but at least it's not in the trash can. Here's some eye candy and full build pics here. http://public.fotki.com/old-hermits-garage/8thscalemodels/29-roadster-pickup/ 29 cowl and Big T rear ... add a little rust ... ... and a mock up.
  10. Finished body pics ...
  11. How about an East coast style, unchopped, hiboy with a carbureted 351 ?????
  12. "The devils in the details !"
  13. The first el Camino was 1959 Both beautiful cars.
  14. Aww c'mon Harry. Everybody knows this was the first car. heh heh heh.
  15. Since a 29's door skin closes on top of the body instead of flush like a 32 I made the doors in three layers. An inner door shell with the window molding ... an inner frame ... and an outer skin. It still needs a little filling and sanding around the window molding but I'm pleased with it. .
  16. Sorry, not being greedy but I have no intention of casting any for distribution. I didn't master it and I don't have the original creators permission. I also don't plan on casting the coupe or pickup. I can't afford it.
  17. I haven't done much since Christmas because of the weather and personal obligations but I started this the other day and thought I'd let y'all take a look. I'm turning this ... ... into this. It's been a real challenge and there is a BUNCH of work left to do but it's getting closer. Heres some progress pics to see how I did it. http://public.fotki.com/old-hermits-garage/8thscalemodels/29-five-window-wip/ I'm also going to build a pickup body so I cast the cowl for a starting point. .
  18. Plastic !!!!!!!!! I don't know Luke. The valve covers are from a Lindberg kit.
  19. I believe this thread was started to show 312 Y block engines. Heres one of mine.
  20. How could you have forgotten the infamous GM 409 ???????
  21. What ???? You mean the parking brakes on Pochers don't work ??????
  22. Not to be picky but to name a few ... GM 207 215 216 228 302 307 ... Ford 215 223 226 302
  23. Maybe ...
