I use a portable hair dryer and bend the plastic rod around a piece of pipe or socket.

That's how I got the body Casey. I scratch built the frame to fit. Anglias are tiny cars in real life with only a 90 inch wheel base and 152 overall. http://public.fotki.com/old-hermits-garage...emodels/anglia/

6 more years till retirement, if me and Social Security make it that long. I love my job, I just don't like the people I work with. Of course, the feeling is probably mutual. -
Very nice, clean build Dano, ya done good.

I try not to Charles. Both of my pups are photo hogs. The Shepards tail is sticking up above the roof in the first pic.

One last note and I'm outta here. The chemicals used in airbags are deadly if the bag ruptures. Inside the airbag is a gas generator containing a mixture of Sodium azid, Potassium nitrate and silicon dioxide. All used to create nitrogen gas. Sodium azide is often compared with cyanide, as poisoned individuals suffer from the same symptoms. Exposure to sodium azide has some or all of the following symptoms within minutes: rapid breathing, restlessness, dizziness, weakness, headache, nausea and vomiting, rapid heart rate, red eyes (gas or dust exposure), clear drainage from the nose (gas or dust exposure), cough (gas or dust exposure), skin burns and blisters (explosion or direct skin contact). Exposure to a large amount of sodium azide may cause these other health effects as well: convulsions, low blood pressure, low heart rate, loss of consciousness, and lung injury, respiratory failure leading to death.[7] Rapid release of nitrogen gas into an enclosed space can displace oxygen, and therefore represents an asphyxiation hazard. This may happen with few warning symptoms, since the human carotid body is a relatively slow and a poor low-oxygen (hypoxia) sensing system .

Real or Model #109 FINISHED!

The wrinkles in the carpet scream real. -
If the citizens at large would get off their butts and "fight" against some of the ridiculous laws maybe you wouldn't be inside "what is essentially a rolling safety cage filled with cream puff airbags, and have to also wear my seatbelt". Might cure some of the other problems were facing now too !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New old guy in the house

Welcome from a 54 model. It's not the age, it's the mileage and my odometer has rolled over a few times. -
We are very lucky that we can modify our cars at all. I have a friend in Norway trying to build up a 70's buick. He told me he had to get approval from the government just to repaint the car. Also if he wanted to alter the drive train to ANYTHING but stock he needed approval. The powers that be in the US are getting ridiculous in some of these laws. In SC we fought for over ten years to get the motorcycle helmet law changed to under 21 only. We also have some laws against window tint, modifing exhaust, lifting suspension, etc, but the hillbillys around here have trucks tall enough to clear a Volkswagen.

Holy cow Stump, it's been a while since I checked this thread and you've been busy. My eyes and fingers hurt just looking at all the tiny detail you've added. Only compliment I can think of is "Top Shelf Work", keep at it.

I used my old photo base for a 1/25 scale diorama so I needed a new one. I took a three foot by four foot piece of CDX plywood and skimmed it with sheetrock mud. After allowing it to dry I sanded it and painted it flat black. Then I sprayed two cans of automotive trunk paint to give texture and color. I then fogged Wal Mart flat black over the top to dull it some. Heres the finished piece. This is a 1/6 scale diecast for reference, An easy, cheap afternoon build that will last for a long time and can be used for multiple scales. .

Here Harry, a little info copied directly from Wikipedia just so you'll know. 2012 phenomenon From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Image of a date inscription for the Mayan Long Count. The 2012 phenomenon[1][2] is a present-day cultural meme proposing that cataclysmic or transformative events will occur in the year 2012. The forecast is based primarily on what is claimed to be the end-date of the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar, which is presented as lasting 5,125 years and as terminating on December 21 or 23, 2012, along with interpretations of assorted legends, scriptures, numerological constructions and prophecies. A New Age interpretation of this transition posits that, during this time, the planet and its inhabitants may undergo a positive physical or spiritual transformation, and that 2012 may mark the beginning of a totally new era.[3] Conversely, some believers in 2012 millenarianism believe that the date marks the beginning of an apocalypse. The 2012 doomsday prediction idea has been disseminated in numerous books and TV documentaries, and has spread around the world as an Internet meme through websites and discussion groups. The idea of a global event occurring in 2012 based on any interpretation of the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar is rejected as pseudoscience by the scientific community, and as misrepresentative of Maya history by Mayanist scholars.[2][4]

FYI, Anno Domini (sometimes found in the irregular form Anno Domine), abbreviated as AD or A.D., and Before Christ, abbreviated as BC or B.C., are designations used to number years in the Julian and Gregorian calendars. The calendar era to which they refer is based on the traditionally reckoned year of the conception or birth of Jesus, with AD denoting years after the start of this epoch, and BC denoting years before the start of this epoch. There is no year zero in this scheme, so the year AD 1 immediately follows the year 1 BC. Therefore the year is 2009 years after the birth of Christ.
