  1. Make sure you replace the gas cap properly Harry. My wifes 98 Blazer has a sensor in the cap and if it isn't screwed on properly the check engine light comes on. Overkill at it's best !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Thanks for the compliments guys, it was fun. Slim, this is OOB, the tires came with the kit.
  3. Escape from reality !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I built as a kid then life got in the way. Built real cars & Harleys till about five years ago then got back into building models as therapy after my cancer.

    Ole # 27

Finished this one waiting for paint to dry.
  5. Finished except wash & wax. Build pics here. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19992 and here. http://public.fotki.com/old-hermits-garage...ale-cars/63-xl/
  6. Someone once said "When a negro becomes president pigs will fly". Sure enough, 100 days later, swine flu.
  7. I got the black base coat on and liked it so it will be black with flames.
  8. Both, but the kit is a later repop of the original. Decided to go a little 60's on it and close up the rear window. Might even do a half vinyl top. I also changed to deep dish chrome reverse and full moon caps.
  9. I don't usually build in 1/25 scale but decided I needed a change of pace. This will be a full blown custom with probably purple paint and flames. First thing was to chop the top and clean the entire body and make it smooth. Deep dish Cragers and WW's are definately in order. Just had to install some skirts and mold them in. More to come. .
  10. Why ???????????

  12. Every woody needs a surf board so I made one to look like an old time long board. It is made with birch plywood and sheetrock mud. The decals were disintegrating as I applied them so there are a few cracks. Makes it look like it's been used. My story and I'm sticking to it. More pics here. http://public.fotki.com/old-hermits-garage...els/surf-board/
  13. Count rivets, don't count rivets, count rivets, don't count rivets, hmmmmm, left brain, right brain, your brain on drugs. It's called artistic license. Build it the way YOU like it and enjoy. How bout a 1/25 Jeep on a 1/32 monster truck with a blown Buick nailhead ??????????
  14. In 1950's to 1979 Pontiacs #1 on the distributor cap is in front just left of center. The kit had a magneto so if I'm not mistaken # 1 would be top left. The firing order on all Pontiac engines is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 The cylinders on all Pontiac engines are numbered front to back; Driver-side: 1-3-5-7 Passenger-side: 2-4-6-8 Ps, nice Z
  15. Good looking channel job. You can slam it even lower and get a good rake if you Z the front of the frame and leave the rear stock.
  16. Here's another professional ruster only he does it in large scale.
  17. You've got a good start, keep us posted. Heres a link to your pics. http://s687.photobucket.com/albums/vv236/getrdun-2009/
  18. Did a little 4 wheeling today in my new toy. It's a combo of the '43 Willys gasser body and a jeep frame and running gear. Had a lot of fun with this one. Comments welcome.
  19. Just to prove my point that it doesn't take a lot of hard work and fancy paint to make a nice finish. Plasti-kote rattle can gloss black and Future floor wax. I didn't even polish it for the pic's.
  20. The grill is from the track nose in a Lindberg "Custom T" kit. It can also be found in the new repop of the Canary T. I used the frame & front suspension (both highly modified) including the wheels from the Lindy Exterminator dragster kit.
  21. I quit using clear coat awhile back after some compatibilaty issues. After paint I just pour Future floor wax over it. Best shine I've ever had on a model.
  22. You never cease to amaze me Keith. How do you plan on corroding the Cragers ?
  23. Finished. More pics here. http://public.fotki.com/old-hermits-garage...ouse/page2.html
  24. Plasti-Kote #285 Rebuilder's Cast Finish Gray, available in most auto parts stores. Fast dry lacquer and can be applied directly to plastic without harm.
  25. The 409 is available here http://www.largescalemodeler.com/welcome.html
