  1. A six pack of carbs on a six banger. How cool is that !
  2. Yes it's 1/8. That's about the only scale I build anymore. Thank for all the compliments guys.
  3. Piano wire will work and comes in a lot of different diameters.
  4. I'm combining my chopped 32 Deuce truck with a scratch built trailer for the short rail to make a drag combo. more pics here, http://public.fotki.com/old-hermits-garage...p-deuce-pickup/ http://public.fotki.com/old-hermits-garage...six-pack-to-go/ http://public.fotki.com/old-hermits-garage...els/drag-combo/
  5. Impeccable build. My favorite car and definitely a winner.
  6. WOW !!!! Nice job on both.
  7. About two miles an hour walking it out to the driveway to take the pics. Wouldn't you love to be here ?
  8. And a mock up just to see how the paint looked.
  9. Got some more done on the pick up this week. Just about ready for final assembly and detail. I painted some pieces body color the dull coated them for contrast. And ya gotta have an antique glass door knob shifter. 2 X 2 intake with split exhaust manifold and dual pipes.
  10. Finally got this one buttoned up. More pics here http://public.fotki.com/old-hermits-garage...six-pack-to-go/
  11. Basically yes. I took a cowl and a 1/25 body for reference and made the pickup body with sheet styreen and bondo. Here's how I built the body, http://s39.photobucket.com/albums/e161/old...0Scale/Wrecker/ Then with the help of a friend made the mold. Here's the mold, http://s39.photobucket.com/albums/e161/old...cale/Z%20molds/ In this scale there is very little in the way of after market stuff so if you want something new you have to make it.
  12. Here's an update on the pick up. I got some of it painted and got it on wheels. Heres a little teaser.
  13. If it wasn't sitting on the hood of a car I'd swear it was real. Excellent job.
  14. WOW !!!!!!!! That's a nice piece !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Four thumbs up. I love it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Thanks guys, It does take a little of both. Here are a couple of 1/1 original 1932 pick ups I'm leaning toward shiny Keith, I'll leave the rusty one to you. How bout like this one ?
  17. You're doing one he** of a great job. .
  18. I started another project. I haven't finished the last seven but I have fun starting them. It's a 1/8 scale, chopped, channeled, sectioned, Z'ed, '32 Deuce pick up. I mastered the body in the fall of '06 and just got around to casting it so I could build more. Here's a mock up and the stock body.
  19. Very impressive, got any more pics ?
  20. She sells sea shells down by the sea shore ... Ya need to talk with your doc about those pills he gave ya Barbo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. The cylinders, heads, valve covers and timing cover are from an old Corvair trike kit Junkman. I carved the block from resin and the side panels are resin. The carbs & tubes are resin and the rest is from the parts box. The pushrods are cut down 4 penny finish nails. It was an experiment just to see if I could do something different with junkyard parts. In fact this whole build has been an experiment just to do something completely off the wall.
  22. Knowing your addiction to rust, is this gonna be a rust bucket or a shiney one ?
  23. Got some Webers and did a mock up on the six. I'll finish them with metalizers and linkages.
  24. Beautiful, excellent work.
  25. After several major paint screw up's I painted it flat cast grey to match the frame. A few more details and she's done.
