  1. Aww c'mon Harry, the Virgin Islands are just south of Florida. Rum, pot, nude beaches, satelite internet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. American Samoa, Baker Island, Guam, Howland Island, Jarvis Island, Johnston Atoll, Kingman Reef, Midway Islands, Navassa Island, Northern Mariana Islands, Palmyra Atoll, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Wake Island. All US protectorates, Keep your citizenship and don't pay federal taxes. United States Insular Areas do have representation ... Guam, Puerto Rico, et al ... all have democratically elected representatives in the United States House of Representatives, as well as their own local governments. Residents of said Insular Areas also receive the same rights and benefits as US citizens within the 50 United States, including the ability to influence U.S. politics by voting in general elections.

    BIG_T

Beeeeautiful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like all the little details. The tiger in the tv is classic. How much did Chrome Tech charge for the wheels ? I've got two sets I want to send them. .
  4. NASCAR = Professional Wrestling on wheels. I quit watching when the crew cheifs started making deals for lead laps so their drivers could stay in the points. Drag racing is going the same way. Gazillion dollar teams/cars that are identical. If ya wanna watch real racing check out your local tracks. Weekend warriors having fun. Hurray for Revell and I hope the rest of the model companies follow their lead.
  5. I got your squirrel right here...
  6. Think back Harry, Read this slowly. . . Let it sink in. . . Quietly we go. . . Sheep to slaughter. Absolutely The Funniest Joke Ever! . . . ON US ! ! ! Does anybody out there have any memory of the reason given for the establishment of the DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY during the Nixon Administration? Anybody? Anything? No? Didn't think so. Bottom line . . we've spent several hundred billion dollars in support of an agency the reason for which not one person who reads this can remember. Ready? It was very simple, and at the time everybody thought it very appropriate. President Nixon launches Project Independence on November 7, 1973 TO LESSEN OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL. HEY, PRETTY EFFICIENT, HUH? AND NOW IT'S 2008, 31 YEARS LATER, AND THE BUDGET FOR THIS NECESSARY DEPARTMENT IS AT $24.2 BILLION A YEAR, THEY HAVE 16,000 FEDERAL EMPLOYEES, AND APPROXIMATELY 100,000 CONTRACT EMPLOYEES AND LOOK AT THE JOB THEY HAVE DONE! THIS IS WHERE YOU SLAP YOUR FOREHEAD AND SAY 'WHAT WAS I THINKING?' Ah yes, good ole bureaucracy. And now we've bailed out Insurance companies, maybe the auto industry, and are going to turn the Banking system over to them? Not to mention promises of a National Healthcare System! Oh God, PLEASE help us. http://www.energy.gov/about/timeline1971-1980.htm
  7. So far everybody says model but with the windshield wipers sitting high on the windshield I'd say real.
  8. The mopeds were kinda anticlimatic but the blown '61 Chevy was AWESOME. I learned to drive in a '61 Impala.
  9. Don't even go there Harry !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Ain't to many ways to run a body through a wind tunnel and get the desired effect with any body styling.
  11. Back in the 70's after the last gas fiasco somebody (I can't remember yesterday so don't expect me to remember 30 years ago) took the prints for a flathead four cylinder and built it using the modern technology of the day. Aluminium block & heads, Timken bearings, you get the drift. After testing the new engine it was discovered that it got better gas mileage, fewer emissions, cost less to produce and provided enough horse power to run a mid size car with no problems. The "Big Three's" reason for not using it, it was considered regression. Also, after GM quit using the inline six because it wasn't good enough they sold the rights to Toyota. Toyota used it in their Land Cruisers with great results. Just goes to show ya new stuff ain't always better stuff.
  12. Looks good Rob. Got any more pics ?
  13. Make me an offer I can't refuse Dwayne. Yep, it's Testors Inca Gold Rob, and believe me it ain't "one coat". I had a major screw up on the clear coat and had to sand it down and redo it. Originally it took 6 cans for everything (body, frame, etc) then another 4 cans for the body repaint. I didn't clear coat it the second time, just a bath in Future Floor Wax.
  14. Don't forget GM's Aussie division, Holden, and the Efijy.

    24 Karat

Finally finished this one. 1/8 scale based on the Revell Golden T kit with scratch built body. More pics here. http://public.fotki.com/old-hermits-garage...models/24karat/
  16. Do you seriously think a collector will part with a virgin kit knowing it might be damaged in the process ? You would have to out right buy the kit if the collector would even part with it. Lots of luck on that. .
  17. As long as "We The People" let a bipartisan government be in control there will be no change !
  18. Perfect example of "More money than brains" and a waste of a good Hemi.
  19. They also forgot to put the steering wheel on the right.
  20. Because there ain't no profit in "FREE" Harry. .
  21. Money runs this country and the golden rule is "He who has the gold makes the rules". I don't have any gold and I ain't never been one for following the rules so guess it's time to look for a beach hut in Guam. I hear the south pacific is nice this time of year.
  22. I started on another 1/8th scale truck project. It's going to end up as a Paddy Wagon. I'm using a 32 Revell Deuce kit for the basics and extended one of my pick up cabs for the body. Probably be a curbside as I don't want to build an interior. Here it is so far. Build pics here. http://s39.photobucket.com/albums/e161/old...nel%20Delivery/
  23. It's got one obvious flaw. I say plastic.
  24. Better get a fire extinguisher to douse the pavement under those headers. Sweet build, I like the channeled, unchopped look and the graphics are top shelf.
