Several events I've attended were "NNL style" in which the entrants judged the show. We even give a "best of plaque" at every local model club meeting. The best idea I've seen so far was in the SCMA "Big Drag Classic" where every entrant was given a small dash plaque like a 1/1 car show. Something tangible to say you were there. I'm like a lot of you as I go to events to have fun and bench race and if I get to bring home a dust collector all the better. PS, Zoom Zoom, I've enjoyed every ACME NNL I've attended. Keep up the great work.

Harry, you're gonna spend more than $1000.00 on a Sherline lathe & mill. Plus you will need a LOT of additional add on's to do what you want. http://www.sherline.com/prices.htm . If you can't swing a Sherline, Micro Mark, Harbor Freight, Smithy and several others sell a mini lathe and mill for around $600.00 each. But you will still have to buy the attachments seperately. Shop around and talk to people who own different brands to figure out what will do for your needs.

I started with these kits Dwayne because they were available off the shelf. I'm a lazy, cheap ******* to tell the truth. I enjoyed meeting you too. Hopefully we can do it again soon.

Twice a year my local model club has a club build challenge. This time it is a Jeep. I won't build a regular Jeep so I took the chassis from the Revell Willys Gasser Pkp. I removed the inner fender wells & shaved the top of the doors on the Jeep body. I'm gonna do a 4X4 Willys pkp with the left overs.

I have the same problem and a 50 cent sewing thimble works wonders.

Excellent start on one Bad A$$ car stump. I'll definately follow this build.

I scratch built a firewall & inner fenders ... ...and modified the Vette dash to fit along with a lengthened Lindy "T" seat . Stay tuned, more to come.

I've been tinkering with this for awhile and thought I'd post a few progress pics. It's a 1/8 scale resin Willys coupe that I'm turning into a trailered show car. I kit bashed an 85 Vette for parts & pieces. The frame is extended three quarter of an inch and narrowed to fit. Also filled the top of the frame with resin to help reinforce the cut and create an interior floor.
