I'd be happy to have it in my case as is Bill. I've got that one in my stash and hope to get to it by late summer of 2019. What color and method of paint did you use? I've also heard that the clear parts can be dyed with Rit? -
That works Art. The clear lines are a nice touch you don't see enough.

Funny thing Bro. I picked up those same sticks, (thinner than ice cream sticks), for that very same purpose. The first thing I did when I unpacked them was to segregate the ones with the best / most grain. Glad to see they work so well. That ignition box is going to be incredible. Can hardly wait to see in on there. Keep on Chooglin' Buddy. I have every faith in you and I truly believe you'll be done by DSC. No doubt. Probably........ -
Happy to help Jimmy. Glad to see you're getting the results you wanted.

Thanx Michael. I've been busting my hump to get this room in proper operating order. Especially at the sacrifice of bench time. It will all soon be worth it. Welcome back Randy!!!! Seeing you and your avatar brought a big ol' smile to my face. Does this mean we'll be seeing some Brass Mastery progress soon? -
Super clean work Art. Ain't it great when they all come out the same? Octuplets!!!!!!

Walt's Puffer Too T-Bucket Altered
Nytrozilla replied to gasser59's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
I was going to say something smart alecky about people with bad memories. Then when I started typing, I forgot what it was. So I got up and went into the hobby room to clear my head. So I'm standing in the middle of the hobby room, looking around to see what I came in there for. I gave up after a few minutes and swept the floor and found a 00-90 nut in the dust pan. I was so happy I decided to get on the computer and tell my friends about it. What was your problem again? -

Thanx Brad and Tim. I was considering Scale Hardware, but wasn't aware of BNA. I'll be doing business with boh. -
Jimmy, I gave up on trying to use my PhotoBucket links since the MCM site changes. I now copy everything from PB to my File Explorer - Pictures files on my computer, then grab them using the "Drag files here to attach, or choose files..." function. I use the Choose Files option as opposed to dragging them. Sigh, I miss the good old days. A quick hint if you use this method. After you grab a pic, make sure you click on "Add photo" after each pic. Otherwise, it'll load them in reverse order. It's a pain in the patootie, but that's only because it's twice the work. Once the pics are up, you can add text between them if you like by clicking to the right side of the pics, then hit enter, and that will give you the space for the text. As far as adding to your first post, you simply reply in that post. If you still need help, pm me.

.....and from mistakes comes perfection. I can't begin to tell you how valuable your insights are, insofar as what I have to look forward to. I've been meaning to ask, what's your source for nuts, bolts, washers and is there anything smaller than 00-90 ? -
Can't wait to see more progress on this Jimmy. Jungle was a hero of mine too. Wish they'd get off of their duffs and do the movie.

NOMAD WHEELSTANDER - Belated Christmas - 1/13/16
Nytrozilla replied to Nytrozilla's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
This should be the final "hobby room related" post before I get back to work on the Nomad. With the understanding of all of my loved ones, I had to delay Christmas to January. One of my projects was to do a few "Build A Bear" Minions. The eight of them will be getting costumes, but I won't show them in case a nosey GrandBrat checks my posts. I also had to replace a dropped display case for a model I did for my Great Niece a couple of years ago. She aspires to be an exotic animal veteranarian. Also, for the son of some very dear friends, I am building a Moebius Batman Tumbler. It will get a camo paint job and the display case background will be the warehouse that Bruce and Lucius took a "test drive" in. It's currently a mass of parts in need of minor clean up. Very nice, flash free parts Moebius. Kudos & Thank You. So, I'm getting there. Here's proof. -

Joe, I was thinking about you today and your new drill press. I spent time remaking the piston "pucks" as they were .4 mm too large so now I've squeezed 3 tiny holes in a disc that's 2.6mm.......then I started making the brackets that support the caliper and after almost 2 hours, had them perfect with all 4 on one piece that I just had to part off, and I screwed it up big time. So, another attempt tomorrow. It did proof out my numbers though and everything is dialed in really well.....Next time I share some pics I'll show you the butchered one just for giggles. Hah !!! A mistake? Puuuulease!!!!!!! It will be a pleasant change of pace to see a real live actual boo-boo, Buddy. I'm getting closer to having the room set up the way I want. Next purchase is a grinder / polisher so I can make some jigs to hold the rotors. -
I second Tim's emotions and would like to point out one other really cool detail. It isn't enough for John that he make a realistic blower belt, but he ingeniously puts the splice in the SIDE of the pulley, instead of it being the first thing a judge would notice or where it would stick out like a sore thumb under a mirror. I also love the barely visible plug boots and the intake manifold pressure reliefs.

Brother Tim, don't go blowing all of your drill bit money on extra large pencils. How did you fake the shot of the "in-progress" caliper? My guess is that you used a 1:1 billet wheel blank, put the real caliper on the edge, took the pic, then PhotoShopped your fingers. Now, if you would just put your evil genius to work for the Light Side.......... -

Isn't "chipping away" more of a masonry kind of thing? Looks terrific Tim. When I grow up.......well, you know. BTW Brad, I wouldn't worry about him having to make duplicates. He's got plenty of replacement bits. -
1/16 Pro Street 55 Bel Air Update! 1-19-16 New Parts have Arrived!
Nytrozilla replied to Armornv's topic in WIP: Model Cars
While my primary field is vintage funny's and miscellaneous oddball concepts, it seems to me that this might be a good starting point. It's an older kit that you might have to search for, but it's a good jumping off point. Keep up your research because there are probably differences in the age of the design and it's also Pro Mod vs. Pro Sportsman. I assume you'll be using the AMT 1/16 body? Good luck. We'll be watching. -

OH MY FREAKING GOODNESS!!!!!!!!! Chris, you have to realise that you are taking this build to a new level. How many people here have bought 1:1 parts to replicate in scale? Raise your hands. Somebody? Anybody? Yeah, no. I love, love, love the plan to turn them into wall art. I award you with my highest praise.
