  1. i can't find a wire coat hanger anywhere
  2. good interior job.. is that satin black or semigloss black interior color? looks perfect
  3. my thoughts exactly, i use scalefinishes paints as well as mcw. duplicolor clear is just fine for my purposes. like you said if it ain't broke don't fix it btw, where did you purchase the models pictured
  4. that looks very good, I do the same i scribe a little deeper to eliminate the use of panel liner, but I do use it for blacking out grills etc.
  5. good choice i have a couple in my stash, something to keep me busy after retirement this year will be following this one
  6. I've won couple 1/12 Cords 3-4 years ago off ebay auctions each in the 50 buck range. and one i started about 15 years ago, engine and chassis only thing done haven't been doing a lot of building lately but collecting kits for retirement next year, then I'm back in, all in
  7. looking good
  8. yep, they have lots of conversion parts. I purchased a rear panel to convert the '69 Super Bee to an RT or Coronet 500 with triple light panel. also a hood and side scoops reasonably priced too.
  9. i got one of these off ebay afew years ago, 4 to be exact. anyway i screwed up the paint and i was so upset that i put it aside and never went back. I found another and scooped it up also, about 50 bucks plus shipping here are some picks of my fiasco, i m Gonna strip it after I find a way to remove the chrome strips on the rear without breaking them, I can always rechrome them. Rustoleum primer under automotive lacquer from mcw or another supplier the paint looked fantastic, a caddie firemist color. here's the result
  10. Paintscratch is another good site for automotive paint with decent prices
  11. try building 2 at a time
  12. I was given a couple samples of Mission Models paint, has anyone here used this paint before and what did you thin it with? it seems kinda thick to me.
  13. thanks guys, i"ll try both ways but I'll probably settle on the straw method, since its a large can i would need larger storage bottles, I'll just decant a few ounces as needed. thanks again guys
  14. Nice engine work, are you going to wire the distributor?
  15. Nice work, gonna try my hand at opening doors and trunk. as well as operating lights
  16. How can I get page 2 and beyond? when you hit next, it just goes back to top of page. anyone else have this problem
  17. is it possible to decant spray primer as same as paint, I have a large can of rustoleum primer that I'd rather shoot thru an airbrush
  18. very nice build I have a resin mercury version i got years ago online somewhere, anyway it has slight warpage but the main problem is the roof, it got smashed during moving. I am considering chopping it off and make a convertible or lifting the roof from a resin ford body i saw on ebay. I'm leaning towards the convertible but still might have to buy the resin body just to get the windshield frame I'll have a pic in another phone, I'll post here to get some input after seeing your build
  19. I have been buying a few big scale cars lately for the same reasons you mentioned. I purchased most all on ebay, all were priced good or won an auction. Two 1/12 Cords one been in progress for 10+ years, another purchased for about 50 bucks a few months ago, couldn't pass it up. 2 '39 mercedes 500k majahari editions. gullwing mercedes, and a few more, all 1/16 scale, at 64 i like the larger scales, much easier to work with. I have 1/25-1/24 scales also looking at building 2 at a time, one big scale and one large scale retiring early next year, I will have lots of time(God willing) to get quite a few done, I might even try doing a YouTube channel.
  20. Yep, I have two of these kits. I have a plastic circle template that works wonders for painting whitewalls
  21. Thanks guys, I'll probably go with Tamiya for now
  22. I've tried different clearcoats and they all were ok. i want to know has anyone in this group ever decanted any clear before, i have heard and read Duplicolor has a 1K clear available and i want to shoot through an airbrush instead of a rattle can trying to take my just ok painting skills to another level i mostly use automotive paints laquers and acrylics
