  1. This is an imaginary prototype Miura SSV (supercharged sport veloce). I used the Hassegawa kit. Its built after a picture of one in a book that my wife bought me. You cant see them, but I added two Fujimi intercoolers behind the rear "honeycomb" mesh, which I might add wasn't see through, so I patiently opened it up so you can see through it. for some strange reason, there is no photo etch piece for this, that I know of anyway.
  2. VERY NICE! I have a Herbie kit that is partially started. I like the one from Herbie goes to Monte Carlo. some day i'll finish it.
  3. EXCELLENT JOB!!!!
  4. Very clean and outstanding!!
  5. Thanx, Bertil!
  6. Fred, It can be built, but having two just made it easier to build. Don't wait til you have another one to build it if you really wanna do it next! -these kits are EXTEREMELY RARE!!
  7. Thanx, Pat

  14. My wife and I just want to say, THANK YOU for your kind words. that Revell kit did really almost keep her from building anymore. on a personal note, I appreciate you all too! she had a difficult day today, but thanx to all you great guys, her smile was HUGE! I lost contact with other modelers until this forum -ive missed seeing other ARTISTS work. you all have great talent and imagination. Like ive always told, Tina, my wife, IMO the idea and ART of modeling is to make plastic look REAL, and that there is a million different looks to REALISM. You guys -and girls are all great at what you do!! Tom, you're a funny guy! we got a kick out of that!! -she actually has about 200 of her own! To answer your question, Ryan, I scratch built this styrene "jig" for making air filters out of paper for more realism. she wanted to be the crash-tester. I think it looks pretty good, but needs more paper glued in there. its hard to explain, but I will take pictures of the tool, and procedure, and post it here if you want? drop me a message if you want me too. Sorry about the "novel" guys. -Have a great night, all!!
  15. My wife discovered that this kit was a nightmare. In fact, it almost made her want to stop building just after starting the hobby! one of the problems she encountered was that the rear shocks were too long, and angled wrong for this kit. She contacted Revell, told them they're problem, and they sent her new ones. THEY WERE THE SAME ONES!!!! Just when she was really frustrated, I introduced her to scratch building, and now she's fine! -Isnt it what we do? -correct manufacturers goof ups?!
  16. Danke!!

  19. I appreciate it, guys!
  20. LOVE THE PIPES!!!!!
  21. Thanx, guys! First off, Dave, I scratch built those organ pipes, but I have drilled them out before on another one. First I find the center of the elliptical tip, then I carefully make an indent with a straight pin. Next I start drilling at an angle away from the peak of the pipe, and as I drill, I slowly move the bit upright until it drills straight down the pipe. DONT use too small of a bit at first, or it may SNAP! To finish it off, I take a new blade, and carefully ream-out the end. hope this helps! -Alan, the rear tires came out of the Revell Big John 41 Willys kit. thanx for the interest guys!
  22. GREAT JOB!
