  2. Arrived in central Indiana today. As others have said its a great issue. I'm glad to see them hanging in there through adversity. JIM
  3. That first chrome tree looks like it came from an MPC '32 Ford Switchers kit. That chopped T looks like an AMT piece. JIM

  5. Thanks for the link Charles. As I suspected the Cord had been converted to RWD. I have a resin Cord sedan body. I wonder if anyone offers a 292 Jimmy with a Howard head, either resin or 3D. JIM
  6. Don Montgomery was mentioned in several posts in this thread. In 1953 and 53 he competed at the dry lakes in a Cord. In 52 it was powered by a Buick Straight and in 53 by a GMC 6. Does anyone have any knowledge about this car? Was it converted to rear wheel driver or did it use the Cord's front wheel drive system. JIM

  14. nice looking models. I dot believe there were ever any USAC stock car races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in those years. They did race on the 1 mile dirt track at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, but usually in the fall. My research show Turner competed in the USAC Yankee 300 held on the 2.5 mile road course at Indianapolis Raceway Park (IRP, now Lucas Oil Raceway) in the spring of the year in nearby Brownsburg.
  15. Maybe this is the day it will show up in central Indiana. JIM
  16. #216 arrived in central Indiana today. Looks like another good issue. A piece by TB is especially welcome. JIM
  17. I think the Evergreen V-groove sheets are also available in .020" thickness. They aren't rounded like the corrugated siding, but look pretty convincing when installed. My $.02 JIM
  18. Here are pix of some builds Dave Metzner had on the Moebius table at the HMCA show in May.
  19. I received the email August 12 informing me TRJ #85 was at the mailing house. I haven't received my copy yet in central Indiana. Have anyone here received their copy?
  20. Wick, when I am preparing captions for photos of models I take at contest, I rely on the information provided by the builder on the photo information sheet. I only make corrections if I'm certain from my personal knowledge that the information is incorrect. This doesn't excuse the mistakes, it merely explains why they happen. JIM
  21. Thanks guys. Wonder how one of the unique vehicles ended up in the US. JM
  22. It has a Volvo emblem attached to the grille, but I haven't been able to find any images of a Volvo that looks like this. JIM
  23. Zippi, here's the flyer. JIM
  24. Zippi, there is a model car contest in Huntingburg in November that you might want to check out. It would at least give you a chance to meet some other car modelers your area. I'll try to get you a flyer. Is ABC Hobby on Morgan Ave still in business? It's been a while since I've been in E'ville. JIM
  25. #213 showed up in my mailbox in Noblesville IN today. Looks like another good issue. JIM
