  1. Nice build of a fun kit! I like the Snoopy kill markings
  2. Nice work so far on the staggerwing! I used this technique quite convincingly on a 1/48 scale P-51that I built for a friend. I also airprushed the yellow for the warning tip on the prop for added realism effect. Remember, the only opinion that matters is yours so experiment to find a method that you are pleased with...it is YOUR canvas afterall. By the way, this prop with one white blade was quite visible to the naked eye even at speed where it looked like it was turning entirely too slow...even with the R4360 at maximum grunt (allowing for today's fuel anyways) Now for a real challenge, try to model this: Also quite visible to the naked eye and it extended almost to the tail by liftoff. This is a funtion of relative humidity and the speed of localized airflow over a surface. This same effect can be seen as the "speed Lines" Snake scoffs at in modern jets AND at least some WW II fifghters (I have personally seen this on Spitfires and Corsairs)
  3. Nice! I have a 1:1 '87 Luxury Sport Monte with an LS6 so that's not a totally unbiased opinion
  4. This build looks great! I handle decals over door jambs by cutting the decal straight down the door gap with a BRAND NEW exacto or scalpel blade. Then microsol or solvaset. The decal will wrinkle initially bt leave it alone and it usually snuggles down well. If no, when completely dry you can touch up reany remaining wrinkles. Large wrinkles may require a slit with the new blade in order to get them to cooperate.
  5. Thanks! The rallye stripes don't lay down well over the cowl induction hood. This is why I ended up painting them. Was this a problem in the Foose version as well?
  6. That's quite a fleet Terry! Lots of great builds in there???
  7. Great build Mike! Looks like the perfect set up for the Mopar fan to go racing?
  8. See my update in Trck Kit News & Reviews for a new option in 1/16 trailers!
  9. With the recent re-release of the 1/16th scale semi tractor kits it is a shame that the Fruehauf flatbed remains the only trailer option unless you scratch build a trailer (see my posting in Big Rigs/Under Glass). Tomy/Ertl in their Big Farm series have released a 1/16 scale Peterbilt 367 with a detachable neck lowboy. The tractor is very toy-like but this trailer has possibilities! Here is the lowboy with my Kenworth and scratch built drop-deck flatbed to give an idea of size. Note, a kingpin will need to be installed to be compatible with the Revell/Monogram 5th wheels. Comparison of the trailers. Some painting and maybe a few added details would result in a presentable shelf model. Outriggers extend in unison from the trailer deck. Neck detaches with a tab and keylike mechanism. Not scale but it is hidden underneath and seems plenty strong enough to display with a load. Rear bumper and deck detail. Front deck detail. Note the "key" for neck retention (this is not visible from above when assembled) Simplified suspension and wheel/tire detail. This one will soon recieve an upgrade of 3D printed 2 hole wheels amd R/M kit tires. Simplified neck hydraulics could be replaced with scratch built cylinders or simply covered with treadplate. All in all, not a bad representation, with some paint and a few details a decent representation could be made and the Big Farm series (and Bruder) offers some interesting choices of equipment for loads. Here it is big scale truck modelers! Note that prices vary greatly on eBay and other on line sources. I paid $52.99 usd for mine at Rural King a regional ag retailer, in my local store.
  10. The false face on the rear of the moth's body begs for a false canopy in the scheme as the Canadian Forces does on fighters...can't wait to see where this one goes!
  11. the grille was made from fine stainless steel screen used in filters.
  12. Thanks all for the compliments!
  13. Absolutely stunning Harry, a true work of art as many have said! Hope that all is well!
  14. There are photos of my scratch built enclosed trailer here: F-350 and scratch built trailer
  15. Great job Michael! Very clean build on the Peterbilt
  16. Thanks guys! With very limited time to spend on modeling now days, it's nice to knock something together over a weekend and call it done
  17. Looks great, makes a great hauler for thecT-bucket!
  18. Great build of an unusual subject. What scale is it?
  19. Absolutely stunning! May she "rust in peace"
  20. Thanks guys, now I'm thinking that I need a '77 for the fleet!
  21. Lookin' good KJ! In their heyday, the left lane of I-80/90 around here was known as "the Monfort Lane". They were always running hard and passing everything in sight. Funny, never saw one pulled over by the cops though...local urban legend had it that they had a deal to just record the truck information and send the ticket to the company so as not to delay the driver!?
  22. Nice looking pair! Thanks for sharing as it looks ready to head for the track!
  23. Really nice build Jim...I love it??
  24. Nice work! I need one of those!
