  1. The only competition is to do the best and keep improving your abilities?if you are happy with it, then it is a winner!
  2. A couple of points that I omitted: 1) The diameter of the tube or rod should closely match the desired diameter of the rivets. 2) RC56 is more viscous than Elmers so it typically produces a taller (half-round) rivet head.
  3. awesome work. Looks just as if Ford (Mercury) would have done it!
  4. Rivets can also be made with white glue and a small wire or hypodermic needle tube. Pick up a small drop of white glue on the end of the wire or tube and deposit it onto previously marked rivet locations. With practice they can be made surprisingly uniform. If you mess up, a damp cloth wipes them away cleanly. I have had best results applying the rivets after primer and prior to color coat. My prefered glue is RC56 which is made for clear canopies on radio controlled aircraft but regular Elmers works as well.
  5. Absolutely stunning! I would say that you have mastered the burned out effect on this one Charles.
  6. Sweeeeeeeeeet, I love it! l have a '41 Lincoln pro modified project languishing in a box somewhere...this makes me want to finish it?
  7. Thanks Tim!
  8. Cant wait to see where this one goes!
  9. My local Hobby Lobby carries the K-S rods and tubing as well. Take a piece of suitable diameter with you for comparison to make sure that you get the right sizes but it is cheap enough to buy a variety of sizes as John says...so versatile and handy to have around.
  10. My Michigan and Indiana State Trooper fleet
  11. Not the pro street version but here is a straight from the box build of the Revelle kit:
  12. I have aftermarket copies of the decals that I found on eBay after I built this one as a recent overhauled/re-painted unit which is common for these beasts. The grill area was opened up and replaced with fine mesh stainless steel screen, Also added suitable dirt (from model RR balast), gunk and cast extra ripper teeth
  13. Really cool Chuck! Looks like it could have been done that way from the factory ? Took many a trip to the U.P. In the back of full size Ford family trucksters. Big block power up front, my own zip code "way back in the back" and a big travel trailer behind...9 miles per (32.9 cent) gallon. Those were the days!
  14. Great job on putting the Stutz back in order!
  15. I built one of these adding clear windows and an iterior. Makes for a passable display model and there are endless examples of civil and military paint schemes.
  16. Great work! Thanks for posting these.
  17. Harry’s artistic talents are all over that wla. Photographed against the right setting it would pass for 1:1. The others are super clean builds which I am proud to display and I tell everyone who sees them about Harry’s talent as a builder and champion of our hobby.
  18. The engine in the Miss Budweiser hydro is very crude and possibly a RR Griffon. The old AMT parts pack Allison engine would be a good alternative.
  19. Super clean build, thanks for sharing!
