  1. Good to know the stance is right. I have this kit and I always wonder how much work I'll have to do on ride height! Good job on this one.
  2. I actually love the look of the base model cars.
  3. Holy moly. THe detailing is amazing!
  4. The guy I thought I had hired, who was supposed to start today, emailed late yesterday and said he took a different position last week. Last week?! Screw you buddy. You waited a week to fill me in? A week I could have spent bringing in other candidates for interviews, and maybe actually having someone start today? Thanks for wasting my time. I sincerely hope that whatever employer hired you calls and tells you they changed their mind.
  5. The white one is a pearl white, and I'm going to try to refinish it to stock. If I can pull that off, it will look like my Bich from the same era.
  6. James is THE reason I got serious about playing guitar, and Metallica was one of my biggest influences, even though my bands never really sounded like them. As a rhythm player, he was definitely my biggest influence. Scott Ian from Anthrax a close second. And then when I found out he was a car guy? Made him even cooler in my eyes. I don't typically like hot rods per se, but if any model company chose to do kits of his builds, I'd buy every one.
  7. I'm digging it. Let's see some pics of the inspiration!
  8. THe metallic white works extremely well on this kit. Excellent choice on a great build!
  9. Excellent work, on my second fav BMW design.
  10. Man...the scratchbuilding skills around here never cease to amaze me.
  11. Okay. I see an AMT VW Scirocco, and an AMT Ford Escort. Can I call dibs on those? Seriously.
  12. The paywall is a bad idea. As has been said, many won't pay for what they can find for free elsewhere. However, a membership might not be a bad idea. I'm a paid member over at an overland exploration site. Anyone can join and take part, however, if you pay the one time membership fee, you get access to all of the article archives, special features, and you get a site tee shirt, emblem for your truck/SUV, stickers. Access to the forum and the info there is the same, but the non-forum extras are only available to paid members. I find this keeps the open info and discussion on the forums the same as it always was, but those who want a little/lot more get it if they pay. Personally, I think the one time membership fee was worth it for all of the extras you get. I think you could easily do that here. Keep the forum open, but have a members only section with lots of how-to articles, picture posts, reviews, etc. I also think that moving the magazine to digital only would save costs. Instead of printing a magazine, pump those resources into an awesome paid online section.
  13. Love that Warrior! I only have one Jackson, a COW7. Absolutely love it. ST-3 is the official name for those, so you're correct. I always just call them an ST though. Not sure why. The BCs are incredibly underrated. Everyone assumes that becuase of the wild shapes, they're a one trick pony. Good for metal and nothing else. Find a nice Bich or Mockingbird, and I think most people would be surprised at just how good they are. I have an NJ Warlock for around '87 and it surprises a lot of my friends with how nice it plays and sounds, and how comfortable it is to play. Nevermind that it's pointy and pink in colour! I've been slowly upgrading all of my Floyds with the FU-Tone big block. I go with the brass L block. I have one of their PMS things too, waiting to go in something. Will see what kind of a difference that makes.
  14. Two out of three! The single pickup is a very early Rave. Yeah, the bargain basement model, but had the same neck as the Platinums, and the body is virtually identical to the ST. BC Rich is my go to brand. Not including these, I have eight of them, including a Gunslinger.
  15. This is what 's on my bench right now. Three on the go, very early stages of the rebuild process right now. All three are late 80s BC Rich Platinum series guitars. Very underappreciated, and as such are somewhat inexpensive now. All will be stripped to the wood. Luckily, no major dings or dents to fill in any of the bodies. The reverse headstock neck is kind of a unicorn/holy grail, so that one is getting extra attention. Will be refretting that one and replacing the markers with Luminlay. I think it will be going on the white body
  16. www.stewmac.com have taken a lot of my money! And they have all the tools one would need to measure and do their own frets. I ordered the fret tool kit recently, as I have some guitars on the bench that I want to practice refretting on.
  17. You're doing a terrific job on a horrible kit! I'm working on this kit too, and it's fought me every step of the way. Nothing fits right.
  18. lolz. As soon as I saw this post title, I knew what your colour scheme would be!
  19. Grabber Blue is the best colour on these!
  20. This is my new daily driver. 2017 Ram Power Wagon. Yes, I swap out trucks fairly often. I'm really liking this one though. The ride quality is probably the best I've experienced in a heavy duty truck. The suspension is completely reworked from the standard Ram 2500, and the improvement in ride quality is massive. Fuel economy from the 6.4L Hemi isn't bad either, even when towing. Haven't used the winch yet, but I'm looking for an excuse! And over the weekend I got my "project" truck up and running. 1997 Chev K1500 Silverado. I parked it for the winter, so hasn't been started or touched since October. Put a new battery in, checked the fluids (which were all fine), adjusted tire pressure. Started up immediately with zero hesitation. Was actually surprised at how quick it started and how smooth it ran. Time to start figuring out what the plan will be. Need to start some minor body work and take care of the rust bubbles before they become serious. Needs tires, needs a better stereo!
  21. I never knew Harry, and only had minimal interaction with him, but he seemed like a solid guy. And even though we rarely spoke directly, I think we all kind of got to know him a little, just through his contributions around here. My condolences to his family and friends.
  22. I travel to that area a few times throughout the year. Both for work and for pleasure. Beautiful. Will have to remember to swing through here, see if he'll let me wander around with a camera.
  23. I can honestly say this is the first time I've ever wanted to dabble in real estate. http://www.century21.ca/hudson.purba/Property/BC/V0E_2X2/Tappen/4164_Eldon_Frontage_Road I see at least a dozen cars there I would love to get my hands on. And for the mathematically challenged, 1.45 million CDN is about $1.08 million US. Anyone want to go halfsies?
