When I first saw the title, I said to myself "I hope he painted it that purple colour that all the Ford Flare's seemed to be painted in." And I was not disappointed! Good looking build.

Always liked this generation of Lightning. I knew this kit existed, but can't say I've ever seen one completed.

Excellent! I love the newest Z28, and that TK looks really, really good. I had no idea that resin can shrink. I haven't worked with it much, but will watch for that with the parts I have now Looking forward to more updates.

THey're definitely on the backside, facing the interior. I can feel them when I run my finger over them. Heading out there now, will report back in the monring. Fingers crossed. If unsuccessful, I'll just have to get creative.

I know this is an acient thread, but I felt compelled to comment. These old show cars always fascinate me. Whatever happened to all of the cars featured in magazines like Hot Rod and Car Craft? I'd love to see an issue dedicated to these former stars. It brings up questions though. If this Steve Scott guy is so gung ho about this car and preserving the legacy or whatever, why not show the car? And if he doesn;t have it anymore, why not? If the car was that special to him, why get rid of it? Makes zero sense to me. Anyway, at the end of the day, I think this particular car is fugly and I would have zero interest in a kit. But the story of these things really does interest me.

Yes, I tried both the Tamiya modelling compund and a Meguair's cutting wax I use on my 1:1. Neither did a thing. Deoderant, eh? Hmm...would never have thought of that, will give it a try. Actually, will have to find some, as I'm pretty sure it's all pitstick in our house! Thanks! Dan

Despite your issues, that is turning out awesome. You're doing an great job so far.

I have a dilemma! I am in the final stages of an old Tamiya BMW Z3 kit. I masked the windshield to paint the edges. I used Tamiya masking tape around the edges, and a wide 3M green masking tape in the middle of the windshield. I've done this before on other kits wth no ill-effects. However, on this one, the tape left some residue in the middle of the windshield. So far, I have tried Tamiya polishing compound, a Meguiar's polishing compound, rubbing alcohol, soap/water, and was very carefully trying a solvent remover. Nothing has worked so far. I don't want to go too nuts, as it is clear plastic, and I fear that too much rubbing might cloud it or scratch it. Any thoughts? THanks!

Yeah, I have a couple of these in the stash, but my scratchbuilding skills are nowhere near the point where I'd be happy with it!
