  1. Little Jewel in it's own right. Great.
  2. A few other "Clear" kits to chase : http://robdebie.home.xs4all.nl/models/visible-engines.htm I'm holding my breath for that Lindberg Flathead V8.
  3. Here's a look at the instructions.http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/johan-instructions/straightline-competition/johan-haulin-hearse-/ A couple a finer HEMIs you'll never find.
  4. Got a set of these on my Charger.
  5. Ran across this blog, looked like something to share, enjoy. http://blog.dodge.com/my-dodge/a-few-of-my-favorite-things/
  6. Lack of funds can be a problem, especially as a youngster. But I'm talking just plain missing some great kits due to no way of knowing they exist. I really got hooked on the Tamiya 1/12th F1 kits once i discovered they existed ,but it took awhile to find out what all was available.
  7. No excuse now with the interweb, model magazines, hobby blogs, shows, swap meets, clubs etc. But back in the day, before all that , if you didn't go to your local hobby shop (if you had one that kept up with new kits) and check out the shelves or talk to the nice person that ran the place, you were pretty much in the dark. I remember coming back from the navy in the early seventies, finding quite a gap in my awareness of "New" kits. Years later I discovered I had missed the Aurora Racing Scenes. I did happen upon a few others just by chance, Of course a lot of others were just what was on the shelves day to day, at the time.
  8. Orange for me, either one.
  9. Yes , daily driver back in the eighties when I was working at the Sun City Post Office. Letter carrier came in and told me about the long car being painted on his route. Got to meet Bill and look over the car, what we could see of it all masked off for paint. this was some time back in the early eighties.
  10. So my point here is these are pretty intense kits. If one doesn't have the patience , they are quite daunting. At that end you have a very nice box of parts. and as they say " Parts is parts" So what do you do with all those engines, 4 injected Buick Nailheads and 4 Pontiacs with blowers , and a bunch of quick change rear ends ? One more "point" Mickey Thompson may have broken a speed record with his car, however it was a one way run, not good enough to "Hold" the record. That would go to the Summers Brothers in their Goldenrod ( another four engine monster) with a two way win, holding their record for 26 years. And yes they were blown HEMIs.
  11. OK, my bad, haven't opened one of these up in awhile, Pontiac not HEMI. However I never identified Tony Nancy as Micky Thompson. Grabin' at straws there. "Let's make fun of Greg" or " Same Group" ?
  12. Engine stands really cool. Show us some pic's without the engines on them.
  13. With a couple of these in the stash and knowing one can get them at a good price at just about any show or swap and having looked inside and perused the instructions one has to wonder what to do with all those gorgeous parts? I could build these monsters with a great deal of patience. There are four greatly detailed Buick Nailheads and four old school HEMIs. Or maybe one of these ?
  14. Some times life gets in the way.
  15. Jason, did you ever finish this ?
  16. maybe a sharp #11 will fix it up.
