  1. who was responsible for this one from Nichimo ?
  2. here are a few of the older kits. WWI Aircraft being a big segment: http://www.oldmodelkits.com/index.php?manu=Renwal and a few more (Google is our friend ) https://www.google.com/search?q=renwal+models+history&espv=210&es_sm=122&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=oCSRUprPAdKlqQHlh4G4CA&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=1242&bih=746
  3. Either way I'm sure at one time or another we all have built a Tom Daniel kit and maybe even cherished a few of them. But I'm of the mind that of all the car kits out there his were probably the one thing that separates car modelers from the serious side of modeling I.E. Military, aircraft, armor and ships.
  4. Seems to me this is just a "band wagon" thing. There can't be that many people that hate this boon to finding anything you can think of. Where else can you find pictures, price guidelines, information, availability, and the product its self? It;s your choice to buy or not. No one is forcing you to pay the shipping or even look at these gems from the past.

  10. was years ago when there was an economy and people payed for what they had.
  11. A buddy of mine, gassin' up his cherry V-8 Vega. A guy comes over chatting him up. Upon leaving the guy laments, " Wish I could afford one of those, as he gets into his $50,000 + suv.
  12. My favorite : " Nice lookin' Charger, I used to have one just like it. What year is it ?"
  13. But they do. My biggest gripe about car shows. Keep your late models at home.
  14. I think it was more of where the engine was and what it was (large V-8) and radiator placement, straight up , just like a Model A Ford { ok, not that tall, side ways} ( not slanted back). The car itself sits pretty level.
  15. I have to agree with William, exciting indeed. Which ever way it goes., original, 1/25th , great build, parts, nostalgia, it's all good, and exciting. Nick, new kit releases were exciting back in the 60's and 70's when you stumbled upon them in your chance visit to the hardware store, department store, toy store, or were lucky enough to visit a hobby shop. At best it was all chance with hardly the anticipation build up we now have with the internet. WOW! I am excited.
  16. Derived from the Pratt & Whitney R-4360 Wasp Major obviously with a few more cylinder crankcases bolted on. Scroll down to the F2G-1D Super Corsair. http://www.bikeland.org/bridges/Racin-is-Racin-.html1d
  17. So Round2 could round up "ALL" of the pieces and give us one heck of a 3in1 kit. Oooops, talked about this one once befor. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=53168&page=2 Just thought that picture was too good to waste.
  18. Came across this online, lots of faces , cars, pictures and books : http://www.coastal181.com/weekday_photos-C.htm
