Ferrari F430 Challenge "Shark Nose"
crispy replied to crispy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks Nick, Not really. I do know that the fuel quick connect is around the second slot on the rear hatch. Finding bigger better pictures is the difficult part and there isn't much on that location. My Forza magazines have great pics, but nothing really close and or above views. I want to make sure I get it right the first time. Then making sure I get them to match side to side. There isn't much space in that area on the model to be screwing up, so measuring twice and drilling once is what I'll be doing. More than measuring twice too. LOL Thanks for looking. Chris -
Hey guys, I'm working on the Fujimi F430 Challenge car. So, I'm buzzing along and thought I would take a look at the instructions and noticed that the kit has to have the body drilled out for the racing fuel cap/quick connect, things, can't think of the name of them now. Anyway, there's nowhere on the body, inside or out, that shows me where to drill or where to place. Finding pictures of the Challenge car I am working on is a chore in and of itself. IF anyone has built one could you possibly show a picture of it and maybe let me know what you did? I have some plans lined up. Some measuring and what not should get me through, but I want to be able to see some better pictures of these on models themselves. I'll be going back to check out the pictures via google and the Challenge web site. I'm just very happy I decided to wait on painting the body. Just got he blemishes worked out, fuel door filled and one coat of primer before realizing I was going to have to drill out the body. Chris

That's awesome! What a great blend of parts. IT really looks the part. You do some great off road work. Chris

Thank you Ismael. I'm going to look into one of those for our local club. They've asked me to take pictures for them at their shows. The set-up looked minimal, but gave great results as was evident from Gregg's pictures. Chris

Gregg, In one of the PR photo's I noticed your Lite-Dome. Is this the only artificial lighting you use when shooting? By that I mean just an overhead and white background. The pictures always look clean and neat. I know lighting is an integral part of a good photo. Your tips have helped in the past and I look forward to more! LOL Chris

Great pictures guys! You all sure know how to build them out there! Great stuff! Chris

And the Vette motors drown them all out!

New here, saying hello.

Welcome aboard joey! What do you like to build? Custom, street, muscle exotic, race? If you want to get your feet wt and jump right in I would highly recommend a Revell snap kit. Just to re familiarize yourself. However if you think that's too easy then just grab a kit you'd like to build and do her up box stock. Take your time, ask questions and of all things: HAVE FUN Chris -
Canada dropped from F1 next year!
crispy replied to crispy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Lots of talk about Indy. I'm not sure that would be enjoyable. I'd much rather see a street course. Something in Miami perhaps? Only because I enjoy them. Of course if a suitable track were to emerge I'm all for it. Chris -

I'm 38 and my parents showed up to the last contest I was in. They were supportive of my building as a teen and still support me with my boys today. A great hobby. Chris

I'm with Bill on this one. Everything about that is pretty darn nice! Welcome aboard Jurgen! Chris

eModel Cars question
crispy replied to bobss396's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hi Bob, I have 17 auctions running there myself. I've sold three items this week alone. Yes, the traffic is slow, but people looking there are modeler's. There are no fees unless you want to add premium services. No listing fee, no final value fee. It's very easy to use and once you become acclimated to it, it's very easy to use. Of course there is always room for improvement, but I like using it as is. I've bought a few kits from there myself too and it was all easy. List your kit to test the waters and see what you think before you jump into listing more. Last year I added a link to my signature here on the boards to let folks know I had some stuff for sale on eModlecars. I believe that helped sell a couple things. Just list it for what you'd like to get out of the kit. Don't inflate shipping as there are no extra fees as expenses are low. I ship by USPS and at actual cost to the buyer. I also will combine items for shipping and not add the extra $1.00 for additional items. I always ask the buyer to pay what the actual cost is. Nothing more. Good Luck Chris -

Fantastic photo's Gerry. I really liked the R8 shots. A little good reference when I get to that kit. Chris -

Great work on a sexy car, Porsche's sexiest in my opinion. Chris

Model Car Club Web Sites
crispy replied to Daniel Peterson's topic in Model Club News and Announcements
Not too much of a site, mainly pictures and some information for them: South Central Modeler's of Minnesota Maybe when I become a full fledged member I'll get a site going for them, for now I just take pictures for them and post any information they have. Chris -
Fun race to watch. Certainly Peugeot could have won with a more experienced driver in my opinion. The pass was hair raising to say the least! I know they had to of touched. When that accident happened, WOW what an explosion of parts. Glad everyone was alright. I was surprised the lizards weren't as strong as I thought they would be. Nice to see the Ferrari pull the win. How about that GT1 class! WOW! Who'd have thought a Corvette would win! LOL Chris

This weekends Petit LeMans
crispy replied to CAL's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
yeah, that last line there, that made me laugh. How right you are. All the same the racing should be great. Chris -
I'm with Harry, it's a perfect start. Nice work. I have this kit as well, but haven't the gumption to build it yet. I can only hope it turns out as nice as yours when the time comes. Thanks for sharing! Chris

Bob, take lots of pics. I enjoy seeing them. I told the wife to pick up a meat/cheese cracker tray and some shrimp. Time in the man-cave with good eats..... I just hope this Helio thing doesn't dominate their coverage. I've heard and read enough. Chris -

I think I read somewhere that their is a green challenge for the race cars this year. I think there are 3 different types of alternative fuels being used. Anyway, I have my Saturday planned out. Modeling and racing. Look forward to it. Chris -
Thanks Jim, I did check that out when you posted it, but I was really interested in seeing how well your kit looked straight from the box. Thanks Chris

Jim, any pictures of your kit? Seems like a lot of money for a kit of that caliber and no details. Look forward to your build of it though for sure. Chris
