Besides modeling, well it is my main hobby. I do love to get out and take pictures of, yes, cars. When the winter comes I break out the PS2 and play only Gran Turismo. I suspect when GT5 comes out and is bundled with the PS3 I'll be on that too. Lastly, my sons and getting them ready for life. My oldest is already being wooed by Universities due to some testing he took. I'm excited about his future and his brothers. He still has two years of high school left and we're already trying to get college stuff lined up for him. Better to be ahead than behind. The other two have expressed an interest in Military and Automotive field. Three boys keep me busy and as short as life is I try to do what I can with them. Certainly no other hobby is better than kids.... Chris

Since you guys have added your boys. Here is my son. At the time he was 12 and won best of show with his 69 Camaro. His glowing smile really made me happy. Chris

That's great and it was only a matter of time. It does make you proud and even more so when they have a big smile on their accomplishment. He has a great teacher too. I'm happy that out of the three boys I have at least one is very interested in the hobby. Congrats Ismael and Marcos! Chris

Here is the one I built. Not like the Risky Business one, but closer to Scarface. One of the first kits I put together when I got back into modeling again. I have another kit I used Testors Platinum Metallic airbrushed. It's a work in progress, meaning it sits in the box awaiting a sanding and re-paint. I look forward to your build. This is one of my most favorite Porsche's and one cannot forget the great scenes in Risky Business! Chris

Marc, I saw this on the other board and posted. Anyway, the color combo really looks great. I asked about the rolling stock at the other board but now see you are using the T's. Will they stay chrome or will you be doing something different with them? Just really sweet! Chris

Nice work Bob! It has the understated look without the "look at me" in your face styling. Very nice clean and smooth. I suspect we'll be seeing that in the SA in the not too distant future. I like it. Chris

Let's give a big standing O for Jairus!!
crispy replied to MrObsessive's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Bill, I have no idea if it's all new tooling or borrowed. Here's Jarius' work though: I checked out the SA thread again and now see that it is locked. Jim apparently didn't care for the people wondering if the kit was in fact due to come out. Anyway, I like the art here (and it is Ford approved btw.) Great work Jarius. Chris -

I believe I read that Brad Leisure was the box art designer on the 60 Ford, not Jarius (sorry). Although I did see Jarius' signature on the Trumpeter 1/12 scale Ford GT-40 box art over at SA. Chris -
Mine never showed up. Bill you must be mistaken...... Glad to hear you got one! Kudo's to Gerry! Chris

Nice work Dan! Very clean and smooth. The whole package fits. Chris

Hi, yeah, um... I'm looking for a squirrel and rabbit. I did not see them today..... -
What a fantastic day to enjoy beautiful exotics! And the cars were nice too! LOL This show keeps getting bigger and better. Lots of other European cars showed as well, but not inside the lot where it was all Italian all the time. Here are a few pictures to whet your whet your appetite with more at the link. What happens when you mix Frank Iaconnios Camaro Pro Stock and the New Nova
crispy replied to cooltoys1's topic in Model Cars
That is sweet! Nice work. I would have never thought the Camaro kit would look so good underneath that. Chris -
Where Do You Keep Your Stash?
crispy replied to Clay's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I keep all of mine in my workshop. Now, with that said I am running out of space to put them. I had a lot more before life changed. My shop was full as well as my spare room. Nothing like what Darin has, but a fair amount. I trimmed my collection way down. Here's where it pretty much sits today: And a few more pictures like that are at my fotki site. They are all within my grasp. Sometimes you just like to grok them while working on something else. Chris -
Nice stuff Bill, this and the Viper. However, I'm still waiting to see pics of a 62 Lancer! C'mon MAN! I really enjoy seeing these old built kits. You sure built them clean "back in the day" Bill! Chris

While I don't necessarily agree with all of the changes eBay is doing, some of them are nice. I think the negatives however outweigh the positives. I too buy and sell. I happily accept payments of all kinds. But as a seller I also have to protect myself. I have my stipulations with M.O.'s as well as personal checks. I re-iterate them three to four times so that the buyer knows. OF course it doesn't always work, but some people live in the shallow end of the gene pool too. Marc makes some great points. I concur with them. As far as shipping goes, I'm surprised nobody saw or read the part where eBay is now going to limit sellers on their shipping and handling fees. They really do want you to pay. I really see the commerce here, in my eyes as eBay and pay-pal lining their pockets even more. Has anyone been following the market with them? It's interesting to say the least. You can surely bet when Oct. 1 hits and we start, pay-pal won't be too far behind with some "new" fee policies because of added transactions due to all of this. Someone mentioned 9% overhead, which isn't bad really, but that overhead is going to get bigger come 2009 too. I've got a lot more to say but I'll leave it at this. Chris

I saw a squirrel and a rabbit today...............

Looks very menacing in black! Nice build. It's in my to do pile. Welcome to the forum! Chris
-
I like it. It's odd to see it with the Trans Am hood in this color. That color fits the car well. Nice work Tonio! Chris
-
Jameston, that is sweet. I certainly love the different color of it. I'm a huge fan of black wheels, but they don't seem to fit in my eyes here. I wonder what a red line around the outer edge of the rim would do to the car, similar to the FXX? Regardless, I really like the car and the paint choice. Very nice. Chris

Anyone else have this problem ?
crispy replied to Dave Wood's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It's not just you. I just opened a new sheet this weekend and was absolutely stunned to find it with more wrinkles than a shar-pei. I was able to use the edges and ends, but the rest of it is totally worthless. I'll be trying out other offerings. I remember this stuff being the best, not anymore. It's also a fairly common problem that is discussed here a lot. Chris -
Beautiful! The decal work looks fantastic! Did you bury the decals under clear? Great work. Chris

That's one I too have been waiting for. Will I ever build it? maybe... Just have to have one though. Chris -
What a beautiful clean build. That color suits it perfectly. Chris
