  1. Seeing this thread got me up off my butt to clean my lights off, something I've been meaning to do. What a difference it is. Nice and bright again. Anyway, I took 4 shots of it today. This is what it looks like today: I'm hoping to get some days off to clean out my room of zoom which needs to be finished off as far as sheet-rock and wiring go. I can move my display cases in there. It'll give me a lot more room in the shop too as I can conjoin them with a small side door. Time and money is what I need. You can view more of my Hobby Room at Fotki if so inclined. Chris
  2. Erik, that looks great. It's really coming along. This has to be one of the most iconic movie cars ever. Look forward to you finishing it! Chris
  3. Well, Bad news, I won't be making it. Some unforeseen issues came up and the money I had saved went towards that. I barely can afford to drive to work as it is now. My apologies to everyone. I was really looking forward to this. I hope to be able to go next year. I hope we see a bunch of pictures. Chris
  4. Yes, it's nationwide. Don't forget, using the 50% on the likes of Badger airbrushes or a hobby compressor for those airbrushes. Just saying... LOL Chris
  5. Thanks Bob and Ismael! They look great. Ismael, I was wondering about the door handles, I hadn't looked at my kit but thought was pretty sure you had to scratch those out. Yes, they do look fantastic! Chris
  6. Ismael, that sir, is OUTSTANDING! Both you and Bob have really made these builds look absolutely perfect. I'm with the other guys, where'd the wheels come from? Another flawless build from Izzy Motors. Chris
  7. J. As you know the compressor will cost way more than the airbrush. Well, really it all depends on what you want. Can you airbrush with noise? IF so then spend the money on getting a compressor with a tank, these are loud but hold air. I have a hobby air compressor(Silent-Aire) that has no tank and runs when needed for air pressure. You pay a lot more though, but you pay for the silence. Make sure to have a water trap and a pressure regulator. Michael's sells a couple different ones as well as Hobby Lobby. Don't be shy if you have an LHS they are more apt to let you handle and look things over versus Michael's or Hobby Lobby. Chris
  8. I'm with Jameston. I too use a Badger 175. IF you are looking at price I highly suggest that you take a look at Michael's next week, they have a 50% coupon they are handing out this week(good next week though) and that will bring the price of the Badger 175 down to about $66. Hobby Lobby has 40% coupons and sell Paasche as well as Iwata. Just a matter of what you are comfortable using. Chris
  9. In this day and age and unfortunately our society this is what happens. I'm not for either side but I do believe that questions asked are pertinent. I was even questioning it myself. If you have never been taken then you'll not understand the apprehension some folks have. The good intentions are there, but they want to make sure it is legitimate. I felt better when Rachel came on as it somewhat validated it for me. So much so I looked through what I have and came up with three cars I could live without. I agree with the questions, you don't have too, but if we knew the name of the hospital and other particulars I think you would see a much bigger flood of approval. It's not a slam against anything or anyone, it's just the way our society is today. I'm surprised that Milt took it the wrong way. I read it without any mean undertones at all. Gotta keep an open mind when reading message boards. Anyway, Thanks Rachel and Carl. I look forward to being able to help. Chris
  10. I'd have to say Fujimi will be the first to come out with this kit. I'd really like to see what the top looks like. I'm still on the fence about the looks. Although I do see some resemblances here and there. If it's produced I'll most likely buy. Now, where's my Mclaren F1 road car kit...........
  11. I pre-ordered the Aoshima premium kit as well as the Tamiya kit with p.e.. I decided against the Fujimi version. I'll stick to their awesome Ferrari's though. I'm really curious as to why they decided on two part wheels? Same goes for the one piece engine insert. That should be real fun to paint! All in all though it looks to be a nice kit from Tamiya, although the price in my opinion doesn't reflect what you get in the box, of course I am judging this off of what I have seen so far. I probably should wait and give it a fair shake. I'm banking on the Aoshima kit to be curbside. They usually get the body spot on as far as outer appearances go. That and the wheels will be really nice I bet. Chris
  12. I'm making the trip as well. It'll be my first time. I'm really looking forward to meeting people and generally having a GREAT time. Chris
  13. Looking great Ismael. The quarter round is just the ticket and looks so much more realistic. Nice work! Chris
  14. You've captured the look of the car beautifully. Nice Job! Chris
  15. That was the SA forums? I thought I had to buy an exacto set to get in or something....
  16. Bill and Len, great work. This Nova kit is going to be a hit. It looks great, details well and looks easy to build. Great Job and continue to post these great shots. Chris
  17. I've heard of the clear enamel finishes for PE, but I myself have never tried it. I've been using Formula 500 canopy glue and it has worked like a charm. Just a small amount is all you need. IF you happen to get some on your finish, not a big deal, warm water will clean it up. It dries clear as well. Chris
  18. LOL, Yeah, Silly Putty was the answer for me too. I've got a few projects coming up with my son that will require camo paint and was told the easiest way was using silly putty. Skies the limit for patterns. Michael's Arts sells silly putty for $1.00, use a 40% coupon and pay $.60 cents. Great tip! Chris
  19. I'm using Firefox and was able to re-register and post. It went pretty smoothly for me. Although I'm not a fan of the change over. Their are a few quirks that I'm sure they are going to have to deal with. When I click on an item to read I just like to back out and go, but then the box jumps out and asks me to continue or cancel because of post data. Change is hard, but inevitable, I hope it works for them. Chris
  20. I remember seeing a few of those around when I was just a wee boy. I didn't think they were that great to look at. Now, I'm older, and even in the state those cars are in they look COOL! I'm happy for you and hope you'll show us pictures as you restore and finish. Congrats! Chris
  21. Is that by greenlight? I want the E85 Z06 myself. Chris
  22. I was going to say something about this yesterday as that is when I found out. However, I knew that if Ismael said something about it then I would know it was true. I was kind of surprised myself that they were not going to do any '08's. I was looking forward to the '08 Pace car myself. Let's hope they do '09's. Chris
  23. Like I said earlier Bob, That looks great. The wheels set it off nicely. It looks clean. Chris
  24. Minnesota checking in with locking gas cap in hand. Just jumped to $3.68 gallon 87 octane. My car runs on premium so I am sure it'll be closer to $4.00 now. Chris
  25. Now that would be cool.
