  1. Thanks Bob. Easy Off is readily available to me. I'll have to try it out. It works with everything else I use it for. I should have just tried it. Matt, thanks for the answers. I really should have checked back here after I posted as I just came back from the paint jobber. I could have gotten some prep-sol then. I will definitely try that out too. Not sure if I'm into resin bodies yet. So far I'm not enjoying working on this one. Again, thanks for your time guys. Chris
  2. I'm really new to resin but was commissioned to build a phantom Trans Am out of the Jimmy Flintstone resin kit. Anyway, this would be my first time with a body. I've done small bits before, but nothing like this. My questions: When the body is ready, do I soak the contents in westley's? If so, how long? Let it soak, then scrub it clean with soap and water? After all that I should be able to prime and prep like any model correct? I've heard that using lacquer thinner can work too. I'm just a real newb to this and am looking for some guidance. I thank you all for your time and assistance. Chris
  3. LOL I ordered the GTR Aoshima Premium GTR Tamiya with etch all the Aoshima wheels (4 sets anyway) 430 Scuderia I'm set. Chris
  4. Welcome Mitchell! Beautiful builds and great photography! They all look fantastic! Chris
  5. WOW! Great work. You're really getting that thing done. All looks great right now. Keep going. Chris
  6. Fantastic build of an interesting car. I've always like how those looked. You heard Tamiya is re-releasing their 1/12 scale Porsche again haven't you??? Chris
  7. SWEET! I look forward to the Tamiys kit as well as the Scuderia. Looks like I have to save some money again. Chris
  8. It's because we are still awaiting the release of: McLaren F1 Lotus Elise/Exige Aston Martin, pick one Yeah, that's it. I agree Bob. I was surprised to see that it's not as hot a topic as it should or could be. Wonder what new thing will turn everyone on their ear? Chris
  9. shhhhhh, I'm listening to the crickets.......
  10. I look forward to the new wheels, regardless of whether or not I can use them on something. However their was a set I thought would look excellent on the Ferrari 599. I have a feeling we'll get kits not only from Aoshima but Fujimi and maybe Tamiya. Now that this news is out it would be nice to see the other two come out with a release date, spy photo, something. I believe this will be a bankable kit for any one of the three companies as the ZR-1 kit will be for Revell....LOL Chris
  11. I'm not into rods and rats, but man, that thing is awesome! Great build. Perfect colors and well, the thing that got me was the supercharger. Just too cool! Chris
  12. Beautiful Mark! One of my favorite cars. Such a shame they were such a short run. Chris
  13. Thanks for the update on the promos. I just started collecting a couple of the Pace cars that I liked. I'm hoping to see another pace car promo as well as the ZR-1, and I would definitely think that Revell will have some news for us in October concerning the ZR-1. I hope anyway. Chris
  14. Nice work Steef! I have always found those type of builds interesting. Reminds me of some of the ads that car companies did. Chris
  15. Fantastic work and realism with the added weathering! I love it. Did you paint your wheels and wash them or did you just use a wash on them? Looks great! Chris
  16. Ismael, that is so nice! I loved that color scheme when it was racing. You really brought it to life. Skills, man, you have them. Chris
  17. Ron, Marc Nellis is the man to talk to. I'd swear he was the ambassador for Pace Anyway, if I ever need another paint booth, I'll get a Pace, simply because of Marc's enthusiasm. He's a huge cheerleader, so much so he's convinced me. Anyway, shoot him a private message or email. He'll help you out. Chris
  18. One of my favorite cars. Beautiful work David!! It looks fast just sitting in your pictures. Chris
  19. I don't think Noel is hanging them up because of model building and what he likes to build. More or less someone(s) was judging him and his character because of what he likes. It's unfortunate that their are people out their that still do this. Unfortunately we're all racist, regardless of color creed religion, it's just how things are, but this is a hobby, past time, fun. To be bashed about what you build or like? C'mon.. I normally don't care to join these threads, but I'm getting tired of seeing this in these forums. Get out from behind your keyboards and say that to Noels face. I'll bet it wouldn't happen. I'm, I'm at a loss for words actually. I really wanted to see that big bad Merc finished. I said my piece in the donk thread awhile back. What is wrong with people? It's a hobby. I'll stop here or I'll get long winded, but I plan on making sure I leave a note to those two. Ridiculous. Chris
  20. Good sound advice from Peter. I usually use primer to, a} Check for any mold lines, sink marks and fix. B} create a barrier between paint and plastic. My favorite primer is Tamiya's Fine white or gray primers. I also use Plasti-Kote T-237)gray) sandable primer. As for buying the paint's online, check out these guys: http://www.plastic-models.com/ Or direct from Japan: http://www.hlj.com/ I've had great service from both companies. Good luck! Chris
  21. Dirk, yes, yes they are. Chris
  22. Marc, That's just absolutely clean and beautiful. I can't wait to see all the pieces form the part. Great work! Chris
  23. Stopped by Hub. Was the first time a friend of mine had ever been there. I want to take him over to Scale model supply sometime too. What's your name? Chris
  24. Clay is right, what they are doing is re-setting the model section. The clearance models are on the way out to make room for some new stuff. A few of the things I saw on the re-set were all of the new Revell Mustangs, including the Shelby and GT-H. Also some of Testors new Lacquers, but I am unsure of which ones. The model line is not going away. Their will be lots of new product in a few weeks. Chris
  25. Very Awesome! I can only imagine the noise. I thought it was pretty loud on my TV, so I'm sure it was deafening. I have to admit I was hoping to see Marco pull it off. It was an exciting race for sure. Chris
